Thirteen...

This is about the simplest poem in my whole book, but hey! I like it...

~*~ 13 ~*~
Today I wanna feel 13 again
After the questions but before the sin
When skittles painted picaso's on the tongue
to love, was too young but eternally sprung
When the fit of your jeans didn't measure ur self-esteem
When he wrote me love letters and bought me ice cream
A kiss on the neck made Saturday sheets wet
My first real memory I could never forget
Back when you actually liked your teachers
And the best times of ur life were spent in the bleachers
When call waiting was on heavy rotation
And your name was shot-out on ur favorite radio station
Remember dressing up to walk past ur crush's house?
8 hour converations with nothing to talk about
With a shoe box full of numbers, letters, and pictures of ur ex
When it wasn'r shameful to say you'd never had sex
I was changing too much to appreciate the situation I was in
But damn, if I could just feel that free again....

i completely understand this and can relate to it. ah, what it what be but what past of myself i would be missing... this expressed it completely truthfully, and for that i cannot bring myself to critique it. although i've hardly left that age myself, it feels like it is too far gone. i didn't really get much of a chance at it before other things took over. so, yes, your thirteen would be my...ten or eleven, i believe.

god, how times passes. this touched me. thank you.

Can't really say anything, except that I really love this. It's quite beautiful.

This is really sweet.

I can relate to it so much. Well, I only turned 14 pretty recently, but... feh. Still, the feeling's mutual. I just feel nostalgic about being eleven, that's all. :) I love the line about skittle's painting picasso's (I think I spelled it right...)on the toungue. Very cool wording. This flows well and the rhyming is pretty natural. I would just change the all the"ur's" to your's. I think that's the only grammar blip.

This is your simplest poem, eh? None of my poetry is nearly this complex. Kudos!

you ever say spidgit finner unironically?
