Everything's So Tender Now
I found your name on my hand
Written down with a pen
The ink is like a tattoo of shame
Hiding away from it all
It's like a kiss of hatred
And ripe trees above
And I will not tell you everything
Even though I made a promise
Pills
Another night
Another dose
Another mood swing
Schizophrenic
Non-apologetic
Can't control my emotions
Tell me Dr. Howard
What the hell is wrong with me?
A Visit
Dillusional eyes
Your lover's not here
He's on a different planet
And he won't come down
All his colours are grey
His blue eyes only resemble
The old him- casted in stone
He only wants to get home
Yet your mother hates him
"No, he's not one of us!"
Your father is a bully
"Do what we tell you!"
Your only flicker of hope
In a twisted sort of way
Is him- frozen in time
An example of love left behind
Catholic Fuck-Face
Don't preach to me
Don't knock on my door
When I come back
I don't want to see your face
"Amen........................."
Order! Order!
Order was lost a long time ago
The roads have changed
You still have yet to fully know
How long we have had rains on our parades
Touch me in a calm manner
Our youngest hearts explode
Not the most organised planner
And until the next episode I remain cold
"Do Flowers Grow On Trees?"
"Do flowers grow on trees?"
It was the only question he ever asked
The nurse simply ignored him, and moved on
...And The Cure To My Depression Is Yet To Be Found Out
I hoped that you would listen for once
I hoped that you would provide more than
An explanation for this only increases
The rate of alienation that burns in my eye
Like glades in the sky that crumble to pieces
Eyes of needles filled with all kinds of chemicals
Yet I find this pain unnaturally pleasurable
Naptime, Children!
I've had a lot less sleep then you have
So don't think I am a children
Have you even seen the devil face to face?
Didn't think so...now give me my pills
Before I end up strangling YOU this time
The Swift Moments Of Time
They don't know what the Holocaust is
Now I think that I'm really going insane
A burden to know about mass murder
But I'm not the one to tell them what a gas chamber is
Contained
Maybe it's a cage
It doesn't differ from a cell
This isn't even hell
It's only still- like purgatory
And the flames are brewing
And the smell of smoke in the eyes
The doctors are here to help me?
I sense some irony here

Hello!
Well I liked all the poems. I almost immediately noticed they were all linked up in a way. It was nice to read it as one long poem and then read them separated as well. Reading it in two different ways gave me twp different impressions on the meaning.
I have to say I have two favourites: Contained and The Cure To My Depression Is Yet To Be Found Out.
I love the end line to Contained.
I think thats great
Overall, I liked all the poems and loved some more than others. It had a good story if you pieced it together and the poems made me think. Great job!

I really like these. All of them. You aren't kidding about the Super Duper Poet thing. I do think, how ever, that the one poem Do Flowers Grow on Trees might be more effective as just a title and the couplet, rather than repeat the question in the poem itself.
