Get Away

Hi mirror.
Talk to me.
I need some advice,
problems overwhelm me.
But people don't listen-
so they need a talking to.

She said she needs some more time.
Yet she lied to me now.
I've got something for you,
keep the flow of my blood.
I tried to keep her in check,
but that backfired very quickly.
I make my own rules on the spot.
Couldn't you tell?

I get around. Get around.
Get get get get get around.
Get around. Get around.
Get get get get get around.
Enough shit- tough titty.

Anger through my head-
makes my veins stand out.
Fell asleep for all eternity.
Never to wake her up.
I wanted to tell her my thoughts,
but the words persisted.
So, this is exactly how

I get around. Get around.
Get get get get get around.
Get around. Get around.
Get get get get get around.
Enough shit- tough titty.

It's always vital to say,
"why do people give me hate?"
It's always vital to say,
"why do people give me hate?"
It's always vital to say,
"why do people give me hate?"
It's always vital to say,
"why do people give me hate?"

I've been so tired-
reflection.
I can't go on-
if we all die.

Whisper to me darling.
Make this pact last for years.
Pray to God that He's there.
Inform me when He is not.
Coz I have to meet Him.
Coz I want to kill Him.
Or perhaps his son.
This is precisely why

I get around. Get around.
Get get get get get around.
Get around. Get around.
Get get get get get around.
Enough shit- tough titty.

Must you miss the point?
Please get away from here.
Must you miss the point?
Please get away from here.
Must you miss the point?
Please get away from here.
Must you miss the point?
Please get away from here.

Fever hits fever hits fever hits fever hits my mind.
And so the fever hits fever hits fever hits my mind.
And so the fever hits fever hits fever hits my mind.
And so the fever hits fever hits fever hits my mind.

Must you miss the joke?
Please get away from here.
Must you miss the joke?
Please get away from here.
Must you miss the joke?
Please get away from here.
Must you miss the joke?
Please get away from here.
Please! Please baby!

I'll spit in the eyes of the naysayers.
Never get away.
I'll spit in the eyes of the naysayers.
Never get away.
I'll spit in the eyes of the naysayers.
Never get away.
I'll spit in the eyes of the naysayers.
Never get away.

Away away away away!
Nah nah I'm never gonna get
Away away away away!
Nah nah I'm never gonna get
Away away away away!
Nah nah I'm going down!

Hey there AJ,

These are very powerful lyrics! They’re so full of emotion and while I was reading them I could just imagine them to some very powerful music. Have you written the music for these, as well? If you ever record any of these I’d love to hear them. Reading lyrics is one thing but in a way you only get half the package – I’d love to hear these songs as they’re so full of emotion and power.

I think that at the beginning of the lyrics, you managed to strike just around the right balance between powerful repetition and variety. I’m a little more torn about it towards the end – I can’t quite decide whether I think there’s a little too much repetition or not. On the screen, there seems to be, but if there is enough variety to the music it should be fine. Repetition is great to an extent in songs.

Really, this seems pretty polished. It’s a raw song full of emotion and that’s just the way it should be – therefore it’s pretty difficult to find anything in particular to pick out. Therefore this isn’t really much of a review, just my opinion of this. I really do love it. Again, if you ever record any of these I’d absolutely love to hear them as even just reading the lyrics is great.
Keep writing,

~Misty~
