Tortured Smiles

Smiles of the tortured
Have you ever seen them?
So fake
So filled with pain,
You have seen one
You see one every day
You do not care to notice,
For it is far easier to ignore
What you do not understand
To shrug off the feeling
That something is wrong
To convince yourself
That those weren't tears
To surround yourself In a world
Where everything is without confusion,
You see a tortured smile every day
And it is mine

Teen! This was wonderfully sad and beautiful and I must sincerely say it was amazing! So glad I could read it and I didn't notice anything off, as I'm not good with critiquing poetry and such but I must say it flowed nicely for my tastes and I can't wait to read more! Good luck and hope to see more soon ^^
