Expecto Patronum

As Harry asked his godfather,

"Does it hurt to die?" he shed a tear.

Sirius smiled with peaceful eyes,

"Not at all," he said, without any sighs.

His eyes filled with laughter.

_

"Then why are people afraid to die?"

He asked, adjusting his glasses.

"People fear death 'cause they must leave

Their loved ones behind, and that's what grieves.

His godfather said, with a smile that passed.

"It's leaving loved ones with words unsaid,

That makes dying seem like a bad dream.

_

But dying like falling asleep,

Floating away in a stream so deep.

It's the best part of life, my dear,

Where you chase your dreams without any fear.

___

"Why did you have to die?"

Harry cried, his eyes full of tears.

"Everyone has to die one day,"

His godfather said, calming his fears.

"Accept it with a smile, don't dread it.

__

"What if I forget you?"

He wept, sobbing with pain.

"“It's okay to forget and move on,

Embrace life's beauty with a new dawn.,"

His godfather said, wise and humane.

_

He asked, "I don’t want to go on without you"

“The ones that love us never really leave us,"

His godfather said, with a gentle mind.

"You can always find them in here"

He said while pointing to his godson’s heart.

"I'm always with you , if you believe.

__

Remember, death is not the end,

It's just the beginning, Harry.

So live with love, and don't be afraid,

Of death or loss, for memories never fade."

_

Embrace the beauty of life,

And cherish those who are gone,"

His godfather said, with a smile so bright.

"Let your heart be your love's true song."

It’s been a while since I’ve watched the Harry Potter movies and read the books. This poem makes me want to get back into the Harry Potter fandom. You’ve described perfectly how Harry felt when Sirius died. Sirius was the one living family member Harry had left and then he was gone…

But he still had his friends with him. Harry wasn’t alone in the world.

I hope that you will have an amazing day/night.

As a Harry Potter fan, I love this so much!!
I can understand the hurt and loss of a loved one as Harry can. He loved Sirius a lot and it hurt Harry a lot to see Sirus gone. This poem is very good at showing that hurt but the reassurance of the fact that life will go on, and you will still have that person(or animal) in your heart. I also love the fact that Sirius is telling Harry that he doesn't have to be afraid to die because it happens and everyone has a time eventually. My favorite lines especially are, "Remember, death is not the end, It's just the beginning, Harry. So live with love, and don't be afraid, Of death or loss, for memories never fade.'" That entire stanza hits a deep part in my heart, it makes me feel the sadness of loss while also the happiness of memories. This is a very good poem.

first paragraph: i think it does hurt to die, though, depending on the situation, because what if you die from poison? its bound to hurt until final moments. i think that death itself is a relief from the pain from said poison, but i dont think that nearing death means you cant feel pain.
second paragraph: i think that there is another reason why people fear death. its because people dont know what comes after it. i do imagine that its like sleeping but never waking up, but what if theres something more? what about the Garden of Eden? or god? or satan? dont those things exist too? i wonder what could lay beyond death.
third paragraph: i agree. i can imagine that and i think it would be pretty boring to die. you know, sleeping but never waking up. did you know that some people can hear in their sleep? it makes you wonder if corpses can hear what you say. maybe thats why theres this myth that if you talk ill about the dead, then bad luck will fall onto you.
last paragraph: that is true. i think thats sweet.

i really like the poem. what do you think comes after death? heaven? hell? sleeping?

Hi there!

I just wanted to say a few things about this poem!

This is a beautiful poem. I love how it teaches the positive things about death. My favorite part was ""You can always find them in here" He said while pointing to his godson’s heart." I also love the wording choice, the wording makes the poem even better. Overall this is a fascinating and beautiful poem.

For in everything it is no easy task to find the middle ... anyone can get angry—that is easy—or give or spend money; but to do this to the right person, to the right extent, at the right time, with the right motive, and in the right way, that is not for everyone, nor is it easy; wherefore goodness is both rare and laudable and noble.
