Ode to the Common Dream
Fame and fortune
All belong to you,
When one stares blankly
At the skies
Or perhaps bravery
Beyond compare
Or a hero that never dies.
You become a different person.
You leave all doubts behind
When a handsome fancy-
Floats gently through your mind.
Dreams are not just objects
But longings of the heart.
They color our civilization,
And slowly evolve into art.
Music, theatre, etcetera
Are all offspring of the dream.
They reflect all possible emotions
Though infantile they may seem.
But sadly some dreams may go sour.
With fear and suffering and hate;
They’re splattered all across history
In those who lust to annihilate.
Nevertheless, dreams are there for you
Whenever you grow weary,
And provide comforting fantasies
When your eyes grow teary.

Nice poem Alex! It's pretty good.
The first stanza is kinda weird, the later ones rhyme, but this doesn't as much.
Also, the stanza's material is vague and unconnected. It has to be cleaned up.
Good! It describes dreams and art, and how it exists in your mind.
Very good. No comment.
Good, but explain the infantile refernce.
Are dreams seemingly worthless?
Put's a somber note into the poem, mellows it.
Ok, bad ending. The teary part is random, the rest of the poem is about how dreams shape society, now you say there just their to provide comfort.
Also, it doesn't leave the poem wrapped up. It just ends
