I hope that one day

Possibly years from now

I can look back on my child hood

And remember that

All the sleepless nights, tears,

Depression, self hate, self harm

And lost hope

Made me who I am today

I want to remember that every time I wanted to give up I didn't. I stuck it out a day at a time.

And for that I am forever grateful.

This is very emotional work. There is much meaning behind it and even though it is dark, I like how there is hope. This is the kind of reading someone can relate to but spark hope by the ending which is a really good thing and can even save some people. It is all worth it in the end but getting there can be tough and there will be obstacles. I do not have any English corrections for you because I am not an English Wiz and every author has their own writing style and is themself, but I wanted to say how much I liked this piece of work you have written and i really hope I get the chance to read some more things you write in the future. Thank you for wanting to end this with a good meaning I really loved you poem:)

I thought this was a poem. Is it not? It is formatted sort of like one.

Anyways, great message from such a personal place. I can really respect someone willing to express something they have gone through. I know how difficult it is to express something so deep and personal.

I too, have dealt with these things, and it is so difficult. I commend you for being strong. I hope you continue to be strong. I know it is something you will struggle with. but-- I believe in you!

Your title is so true. People do put on happy faces. Masks, as I like to say. They use these to hide--or mask--their emotions from their peers, or relatives,or anyone who ever interacts with them, such as teachers.

The thing about masks, is that they have cracks. So often, you cannot keep up the facade of being happy. Everyone needs to let their emotions out now and then. Bottling it all up is never good for a person.

Sorry for the rambling, this just means a lot to me. It is a great subject and can really strike a conversation.

hi hunith here.

I really like the simplicity of this work. However, it lacked punctuation which
could have really stirred a bit of emotion into it.

your presentation wasn't the best though the information was very good.
i think it would have been very good if your work said a little more and with more drive.

overall, it's not that bad. good work
