"Nobody, just a...someone from past." Samaira tried to grab it back from the hands of her ever so curious secretary but to no avail.
"Wait a second! Isn't he the lawyer who is fighting the case against our magazine?"
"You bet." What a shame. Why hadn't she burned it into ashes already.
"Oh my! Isn't he the one you were banging last night after the case hearing?" Why hadn't the ground opened up yet and swallowed her whole already!

Hi! I'm here to leave a quick review!!
Anyway let's get right to it,
Oh dear...well, looks like this is some sort of sneak peak or prologue and well, this is definitely not a style of prologue that you tend to run into too often on YWS, but well, this is definitely one of those types that can get the job of catching a reader's attention done, and get it done quite well.
And well, as far as those sneak peaks go, this one manages to very effectively create a tiny bit of tension very quickly with a basic sense that something the person doesn't want being found out it being revealed and then it straightaway exposes something that I assume is going to end up being a bit of scandal and leaves it off right there...and well, this is done really well here.
I definitely love that failed attempt there to sweep the thing under the rug there, it certainly shows that its a spur of the moment excuse made out of desperation and then of course that last line about wanting to sink into the floor. Its the sort of thing you see in almost every story but it certainly never gets old cause it certainly is quite effective.
Overall, this sounds like its leading to a pretty intriguing story, at any rate, it would be one that I would read.

I absolutely adore the name Samaira. It's unique and extremely beautiful.
This has a comical edge to it which I really enjoy.

don't call her a curious secretary we know she's curious, you showed us that when she took it from her.
"Isn't he the lawyer who's fighting..." who is to who's. Anything to make it easier to read.
"you bet," the main character didn't want her to know but then she just says, you bet? Why not, you got me or he is.
"why hadn't the ground opened up yet and swallowed her whole already!" funny thought.
seems like the character is going to get hell for this. the lawyer fighting against them. so I'm guessing it's a forbidden romance. Be careful not to run into a cliche like the lawyer love interest changes his mind and gives up the case. It would be much more interesting if he wins the case against their magazine.
I like it, it's relatable. The character's awkward sincerity is likable. I'm looking forward to more of this.
