Destroy the monster - song / poem

PreviousNext

Shatter the glass of friendship,

Sink the ship of love!

Destroy your social side

And curse the ones above!

You had it once and now it's gone!

Gone forever more...

You're oh so high,

Then oh so low,

Ya never know ya never know

What life will send to come-

and smash-

down your door!

Break open your mind,

Your reality spills..

Is there any thing left behind,

You're losing your will!

You're losing your mind!

But have you lost-

Your will-

To FIGHT?!

The monsters here!

He's bangin' at your door,

He's come to break down your mind,

And your soul-

forever more.

Will you fight him

Will you love him

Or boot him to the skies?

Will you kill him or destroy him

Or will you let him see the tears-

within-

your eyes?!

Don't let him win!

Don't let him in!

You're not even gonna try?!

He's got a snowball's chance

In Hell on you so

DON'T YOU DARE CRY!

Don't even question why

Just run him through and through,

Make him regret the day he ever

Messed-

With-!

YOU!!!!!!

Hey there! I'm pretty new at reviewing so bare with me. :3

In this song / poem, I loved the feeling of hopeless and losing will to fight switch suddenly to standing up for yourself against those who are against you.

"Don't let him win! Don't let him in!"

I like how "him" could be anyone or anything. It could be someone who hurt the speaker in the past, or it could be symbolic of something else. It has many different meanings and can be interpreted differently depending on the reader. Overall it is a very good and powerful song / poem and you did a great job!

Thank you so much! (and hey it's fine I'm new here too XD)
I love how you can see this in a similar way to how I see it. I'm not sure if you saw this as three people, the person singing / encouraging, the victim and the abuser (if we go with that analogy) but thank you so much! :D

Hi!

While reading this as a poem, I was definitely thinking how amazing this would be as a song, then I re-read the title and realized it is a song poem! Bravo! I definitely can imagine myself singing along to this on the radio or something. I don't have much of a critique, and for that I'm sorry, but know that's because you are truly great at what you do. Can't wait to see more of your work, and welcome to the Young Writers Society Community!

To be honest this was inspired by some personal struggles.. I kinda doubt I'll ever reach this bar I've set for myself again XD
But thank you so much... This makes me so happy ^_^
