Felicity

First days of school are always the worst, especially when entering a new school in the middle of the year. It's a good thing that I've been in this school since forever, but not for this kid. He looks like he's a crow in a flock of doves. Well, besides me of course. I was different from all of them.
I've dressed differently ever since my best friend moved away. She used to be a very popular person and I dressed like her. I never realized how isolated someone can be if nobody likes you. I guess she was the only reason people talked to me. So, once she left, I changed my style, wore a ton of make up, and let myself be isolated, ignoring all of my old "friends."
The new kid dresses similar to me, dark colors, with a touch of a bright one. Band t-shirts and skinny jeans. Everybody else dressed happier, even though they wore skinny jeans, they somehow looked more cheerful.
"Felicity, will you please raise your hand to show where Adrian sits?" Mrs. Evans said very politely and very scarily.
I raised my hand, sort of surprised, sort of not, that Adrian is sitting next to me.The seat next to me has been empty every since Erika left, but still, there are other seats open.
"Hey Felicity," Adrian said melodiously.
"Um, hey Adrian. Nice shirt," I said, partly not paying attention.
"Thanks," he said kind of late.
After the bell rang, Adrian started to follow me. I had no idea why, but I ignored it. I got a little bit annoyed when he was standing next to my locker, staring at me.
"Um, not to be mean or anything, but you shouldn't talk to me," I finally said.
He questioned," Why?'
"Well," I explained, "if you haven't noticed, I'm sort of ignored by everyone else."
"And?"
"If you don't want to be the new social outcast of the school with me, I suggest you make other friends."
"I... Yea, sure, whatever. Let me see your schedule. Then I could follow you with a reason."
I handed it to him, watching his eyes go back and forth between each paper.
"Well, lucky me, I'm in every single class with you. Theres my reason to follow you," he said happily.
"Why did you follow me earlier then?" I said, still staring into his emerald green eyes. They were beautiful and hypnotizing.
"Cause I thought you were pretty..." he mumbled. I could barely hear him.
"Uh, well thanks. You're cool too," I said flatly. I was trying to hide the fact that I was blushing. I don't think it worked because he was grinning hugely.
"What are you staring at now?" I said, still blushing.
"Oh, nothing. Just the fact that you're cute when you blush," he smoothly said.
I quickly turned around, hiding the fact that my face was the color of a cherry.
"Well, let's go. We got to get to Biology before the bell rings," I said, pointing to the direction I was going. I calmed down.
Adrian basically followed me until lunch time. I tried hiding behind the crowd of people, trying to see if he could find me. I wasn't hard to find, considering that I'm dressed very differently than everyone else. Still, he couldn't find me.
"Boo!"
"Ahh!" I screamed from shock.
"Haha! Got you! You should see how bad you tensed up!" Adrian said, laughing.
"Well, shut up. I'm just shocked, that's all. Go find other friends to sit with. I already told you that you'd be a social outcast if you don't," I stated, annoyed, but somewhat happy I have someone talking to me.
"I don't want to. Besides, I found someone to talk to. She's similar and very fun to me. She's not afraid to stand out either," Adrian rambles on and on about this girl.
How could he meet a girl on his first day and act like he's known her forever? One mystery I will never figure out. After listening to him go on and on, I kind of got annoyed and finally said through gritted teeth,"Then why don't you go sit with her instead of me? She sounds so amazing anyways."
He simply said,"Okay." He never got up.
"I thought you said you were going to sit with this special girl. You never moved" I said, finally starting to eat my lunch.
"I'm not moving because I'm already sitting with her," he explained.
I looked at the table I'm sitting at and saw no one else. I finally said,"I don't see another girl, so I don't know what you're talking about."
"Are you really that oblivious? I'm talking about you!" he exclaimed.
"Oh," I said overwhelmed. I could feel my face redding as I went back, thinking about the things Adrian said about me."I forgot one more thing to mention about the girl," he said, said with his head resting on his hand,"that I was talking about. I forgot to mention that she's perfect."With that, my face turned into a tomato.

My face was a pale pink from saying all those things about her. Hopefully, she didn't see my face. When I said all those things about Felicity, I couldn't stop. She is just that incredible, even her obliviousness.
"Um... Hey, you know you should get something to eat, right? Lunch is over in five minutes or so," Felicity said, staring at me with her beautiful baby blue eyes. "I know that, I'm just not hungry," I said to her, even though I was, I just wanted to talk to her more, but, of course, I'd never tell her that.
Just then, I hear a very loud, and I mean very loud, grumble coming from my stomach. Felicity burst into laughter. All I could do was smirk and blush madly.
"Yea, right!"she laughed.
She handed me the other half of her sandwich and a piece of her cake. It was the best chocolate mousse cake I had ever tasted."Where'd you get the amazing cake?" I asked, still mesmerized in it.
Her face turned red. "I made it," she said sheepishly.
I went wide eyed. "The most beautiful girl in the world was perfect already, but now she can cook?! Marry me?!" I yelled caught up in the moment.
"Uh, aren't we kind of young? We're only in tenth grade and you want to get married? I don't know you that well either," she said without any enthusiasm.
"Wait, I didn't mean that. Did you think I was serious ? Who would want to marry you?" I said, trying, but not succeeding, to sound cool. I regretted every word.
"Well, thanks," Felicity said, with tears building up in her eyes. She started to get up and walk away, leaving the table.
I started to follow her, but I overheard a girl saying to her,"Oh look, the loner is crying. So sad. It's okay, you were never meant to have friends anyway. Why don't you just learn to stay away from people. The only reason why Erika befriended you was because she felt sorry."
Felicity walked off without saying a word. I started to follow her again, but then she entered the girl's restroom, so I went back to the cafeteria.
"Hey, what's your name?" I asked the cruel girl.
"Clarissa," she answered back sweetly.
"Well Clarissa, did yo-"she cut me off.
"Are you going to say,'did you want to go out with me?' " she said all flirty-like.
"Nope. I was trying to say, 'did you know you deserve a slap in the face?' Oh here's another thing I just thought of. You are a disgusting creature who needs to stop being so full of yourself." I smiled charmingly. She looked as if she actually got slapped in the face. I chuckled quietly.
"Well-" I cut her off.
"Well what? You're a big jerk who doesn't know how mean it is to say something like that? I said. I started walking back to where Felicity left her lunch.
"Man, I'm an idiot," I mumbled to myself. I took a piece of the greatest homemade cake ever and ate it.
The bell started to ring and i guessed Felicity was still in the bathroom because she wasn't in the classroom when I got to math. I got told to sit next to an empty desk. Afterwards, I stopped paying attention.
"Oh,Felicity, welcome to the middle of class. Can you tell me why you're late?" Mr. Thompson asked with a very spirited voice.
"I got sick and went to the nurse after lunch. Nothing was wrong, so she told me to go back to class. I even have the note," she said, handing him the note.
"Okay, go take your seat," he said.
I could tell she was surprised at me because her eyes grew wide when she saw that I was sitting next to her. Maybe it's fate that I sit with her in every class.
I passed her a noted that said, I'm sorry, I didn't mean anything I said earlier. Meet me after class?
Sure. I read off the note she threw at my shoe.
Afterwards, math went by so slow. I tried paying attention to the teacher, but I couldn't. So I drew all over the margins of my notebook.
"Ring!" the bell went, singing it's annoying song. Felicity packed up her things and waited for me. I tried to hurry up.
"So... I'm really sorry about what I said earlier! I didn't mean anything I said! Sometimes, when I try to sound cool and impress someone, things slip out of my mouth! Please forgive me!" I quickly said. I was out of breath.
"Look, it's fine. One thing though, why are you trying to impress me?" she said, turning rosy pink.
"Well, who doesn't want to impress their friends?" I said thinking, especially if it's the person you like. "Can we hang out after school?"
"Sorry, I can't. I have to greet the new neighbors that live on the left of our house," she answered back.
For some odd reason, I had the urge to kiss her, but I think she felt it too. She kissed my cheek. I blushed a crimson red and so did she.
"L-l-let's get to class," I stuttered. I was so happy.

I couldn't focus at all in any of my classes. Why did I do that?! I just had an impulse, so I did?! What kind of reason it that?! I have to apologize later...
Once I got home, my mom told me to go next door with a box full of housewarming gifts and wait by the front door.
"You can ring the doorbell now, I'm ready," she said, messing with her hair a bit.
"Oh, you must be the neighbors. You are the Carter family, right? Thank you for the gifts, would you like to come in?" the lady said nicely. "By the way, I'm Deborah Sanders, please call me Debby."
"Debby," Mom repeated."Where'd you come from?"
"Well I came from Washington, but I moved..." I zoned out after that.
"So Debby, do you have any kids?"my mom asked.
"I have two, but one is in college back in Washington. They're both boys. The other is just about the same age as Felicity," she answered.
"Can I meet your son Debby?" I just wanted to get away from this mom talk.
"Oh, sure, I think he's right upstairs in his room. It's the third door on the left," Debby told me.
I quickly ran upstairs to meet her son. I looked inside the room which was very similar to mine. I thought, hey, at least we'll get along.
Suddenly, someone grabbed my waist and hugged me from behind. I screamed, but quietly so the moms wouldn't hear.
"What kind of scream is that? You get scared so easily," a familiar voice whispered in my ear.
I turned around, seeing Adrian behind me. I exclaimed," Wait, so you're my new neighbor?! What are the chances of that?!"
"Well, for one thing, this house was the cheapest house we could find. Secondly, we used to live around here," he answered.
"What brings you back to Pennsylvania? I kind of spaced out listening to your mom speak about why."
"My dad's job. He got promoted, so they moved him here. I was glad because this is where I found my first love,' he said. I couldn't help but laugh at the last part. I felt a small ping of jealousy though.
" Hey, stop laughing!" he said in a playful voice.
"Fine, but it's cute. I found my first love, but then he broke up with me and left," I felt tears coming. "Wait here. I have to go to the bathroom."
"Uh, okay, sure," he nervously said, "it's in my room."
I now know why. His bathroom was hot pink with polka dots of Disney princesses on them. I burst into laughter. Tears of sadness became tears of joy.
"The family that left had a little girl who loved princesses and pink. I just haven't had the time to change it yet." His face was the color of the bathroom.
I kept laughing and closed the door. Since the only reason why I came to the bathroom disappeared, I just stared at myself in the mirror and looked through the cabinet. For a guy, he had a lot of make up.
"Hey, tell me more about your past," I said once I got out of the bathroom. I sat on his bed.
"Well for starters, when a boy and a girl-" I threw a pillow at him.
"Not that far!" I exclaimed, laughing.
"Fine then. Where do you want me to start?" he asked.
"Start with you and your first love," I said in a baby voice.
"Well, her name, I can only remember that I called her Ceel. Her name was probably too hard for me to say, She was the greatest six year old I'd ever met. Ceel was a girl who was independent and didn't care who made fun of her. Then one day, I picked up the courage to ask her out and she said yes. We became best friends, but then my dad told me that we were moving so I broke up with her. I wish I told her why," he said, regret was in his eyes.
"How was your life before you moved back here?" I askedm wanting to change the subject.
"I was the popular one. Girl's fawned over me, guys wanted to be my friend, you know how people act to be popular. Once day, I got tired of it. I ignored people, changed my look, and finally became satisfied with my life. I didn't really care that I was moving. I didn't expect to have even one friend. Then I saw you, isolated. You reminded me of myself, so I wanted to talk to you."
"Oh," I could feel my cheeks becoming hot.
"Now tell me about you. You said you had a first love. How was he like?"
"His name was Andy. He had so many friends, and was like by everyone. I watched him from afar, and then one day, he suddenly asked me out. He was my best friend, but at one point, he broke up with me and left. I never saw him again." Tears were rolling down my cheeks.
"It's okay, don't cry. Everything is going to be alright," he whispered, pulling me into his arms.
"Thanks a lot."
"It's fine, I hate seeing my friends cry."Adrian is so kind. No wonder he was popular when he was back in Washington.
"Wanna listen to some music?" he asked as he was turning on his stereo.
"Why not?" I said, hugging one of his pillows.
"May i have this dance?" he said in a British accent. He held out his hand. I happily took it.
We danced for a while. It was kind of quiet besides the laughter that was coming from us.
"So, where'd you learn to dance?" I asked.
"My mom danced with my dad a lot. I sat and watched their feet, studying their steps," he answered back.
"Oh, that's cool," I said as he twirled me.
"Hey, how 'bout an upbeat song?"
"Sure."
We jumped around most of the time."Air guitar!" I shouted. He laughed.
We pretended to play guitar listening to a punk rock song. Once the song ended, we pretended to smash our guitars . He was fake stepping on mine.
"Hey!" I laughed. "I should kill your guitar!"
"Go ahead!"
"Fine then!" I picked up his "guitar" and threw it out the window.
"Gasp!" he said sarcastically.
After we were done playing around, I was so drowsy. I could barely keep my eyes open. I ended up laying on his bed, about to fall asleep.
"Sweet Dreams," I heard Adrian say.
Right before I fell asleep, I felt a blanket going over me and something brushed my forehead. Whatever it was, it was soft. I smiled gently and finally fell asleep.
Adrian

Felicity looked so innocent, I couldn't help but kiss her forehead. I felt sort of like a dad though.
As I was about to go to the bathroom I felt something grab my arm. I looked back to see Felicity hold onto me. I tried to pry her off of me gently.
"Adrian, please don't go," she said, probably talking in her sleep. I stopped trying to get her off me.
"Shh, it's okay, I'll stay," I whispered, knowing that she didn't hear me. She let go of my arm.
After a while of just staying there, watching her sleep, I kind of got tired myself. I went downstairs to get something.
"Hey mom, where's the extra sheets? Felicity is sleeping on my bed," I asked yawning.
"There in the hallway closet. Oh, I guess I better tell Madeline Felicity's sleeping," she answered.
"Kay, night mom." I yawned again.
"You better not forget to brush your teeth," she said in that don't-start-with-me voice.
"Sure."
After I brushed my teeth, I got the extra sheets. and went to my room. I started laying out my sheet's on the floor, but then Felicity woke up.
"Where am I?" she groggily asked, rubbing her eyes.
'You died after dancing," I said.
"What time is it?"
"After nine."
"I got to go home. My mom might worry."
"My mom called her. You can stay the night."
"Oh, okay. Wake me up at five. We have school tomorrow. I don't want to be late." Right after she said that, she dropped dead on the bed. I quietly laughed.
"Don't sleep on the floor. Sleep on the best. I trust you. Plus, it's your bed anyway," she mumbled. I got up, went on the opposite side of the bed, and laid down.
After five minutes of laying there, Felicity turned around, hugged me, and laid on my chest. I placed my arm around her waist, and kissed her head. I slowly dozed off to sleep.
As I was sleeping I had a dream.
"Hey Ceel, come here for a second." I was about to tell her that I'm moving. " I got to tell you something."
"What do you want to tell me?" A huge grin was on her adorable face. Her light brown pigtails were swaying back and forth.
" I-I-I'm- " I thought, Just say it already! Tell her you're moving!"You are?" She still had on her grin.
"I am..." I couldn't say it.
"Keep going."
"I'm breaking up with you!" Why'd I say that?! I don't mean it! Tell her why at least!"But, but why?" She had tears falling down her cheeks. Who could blame her? It was my fault.
"Just because..." What the heck?! Tell her the truth you idiot!
She ran away.
"I'm sorry," I whispered. A single tear rolled down my cheek.
The dream faded away which made me wake up.
When I looked at my chest, for a second, I thought I saw Ceel. Then I realized it was Felicity. I thought Felicity looked so similar to her. She has same exact baby blue eyes as Ceel. No, it can't be her, Felicity's hair is dirty blonde!
"So, you just going to stare?" she asked, smiling. I snapped back to reality.
"Well, someone's laying on my chest, like she did the whole night," I playfully shot back.
"Oh, right. I'm not sorry, your chest was warm.""Come on. Let's get up, we have school. Oh and hey, is that your natural hair color?" You're an idiot, you never ask a girl that!
"Nope. I got blonde highlights, and before that, I dyed my hair dark brown."
"What was it before?"
"Sort of like a tannish- brown. It was a light brown I gues.. Well, I'm going to go home. I'll meet you at your mailbox.""Okay."
Maybe she is Ceel. Her face has a big resemblance to her. I mean, she has the same exact eyes, and she had the same exact hair color. Her first love story even sounds like mine!
"Hey, Adrian! Hurry up, it's almost time to go!" I heard Felicity yelling up the stairs. "And I'm the girl," she said sarcastically.
"Fine!" I screamed.
When we got to school, I could feel eyes staring at us. Felicity looked scared. I took her hand to reassure her that I'm here. A light pink hue fell onto her face. "You don't have to you know, I've gotten stared at before," she said quietly. I forgot, sometimes being independent could mean being shy.
"I know I don't have to, but what if I want to?" I really did want to. She's such an amazing girl.
"Um, thanks." Her face was blood red.
After traveling through the crowded hallways, we finally got to homeroom. I sat down and so did Felicity. She was looking down at the desk the whole time. I started to feel bad. I embarrassed her infront of everyone. I shouldn't have held her hand.

I have really enjoyed this. Some grammar and spelling errors here and there, but not terrible. I will mention two things: I agree with Sannah; it is too soon for them to be kissing, even on the head. And also, they blush a lot! It seems like every other paragraph one or both of them is turning red! Tone down the hues a bit, and you'll be good. Anyway, it's a great start... CAn't wait to read more!
Hello! I really liked your story.
There were only a few errors with quotation marks, comas, and period placement. I thought it was cool how you switched from Felicity to Adrian's perspective. It was kinda hard for me to emotionally connect well with them that way, but I loved getting inside both their heads. I thought it was a little odd that they had only know each other for a day and they were already kissing... Please continue this story but throw them a few hurdles to spice up the story. I hope you write so more, I'm excited to see how this story will turn out.
