A mask is an interesting thing. It allowes people to hide who they really are and what they really feel.
- Hidden behind a thick fog of disguise, they hide; Too scared to show others thier true colours. Because they feel that who they are isn't enough.
- Behind this mask, is a girl. She is small and shy But more importantly, she is beautiful.
- But she doesn't believe that. She things she's not worth it, because of the jeers and pokes by people without mercy. so she created a mask to hide her pain.
- With her mask, her eyes shine bright and her smile lights up the room. She laughs like all is well, Like inside, she's not crying out for help.
- But behind the mask, her eyes are empty, hollow. And she doesn't smile, she'd broken.
- But despite the downfalls, she is still beuatiful and if only she believed that she could maybe, finally, be happy.
- Her mask is a good one. It holds well and no questions are asked. It's believeable.
- But masks don't last forever and every day hers cracks a little more. slowly chipping away, the longer its on. Until finally, there's nothing left.
- She eventually breaks down, no longer able to hide. Her true emotions spill free, and she can't hold it in. So she lets go.
- Her true friends stay to help, wanting to confort their wounded companion Those pretending, turn and pretend nothing is happening. So to those who care, she cries out her words, her voice strangled and small.
- After hours of crying and comfort from those caring, she finally calms. her eyes. now instead of showing sadness or defeat are now dead, and she slowly stands.
- Step by step, she eventually heals. With her mask gone, there is nothing to hide; and she is happy. and for the first time in a very long while, her smile and laugh is genuine.
- Her eyes sparkle, and she fells beautuful. Her mask, battered and broken, layes in the bottom of her bedside drawer. Forgotten. Because she no longer needs to pretend.
- A mask is an interesting thing. It allowes people to hide to the are, until they are ready to show themselves to the world. and when they do, it is a beautiful thing to witness.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- a/n Sorry if this is really bad and makes no sence, I just wanted to write this down and thought it would be fin to upload it. This is a poem type dohicky that is aimed for a friend who doesn't believe that she is a beautiful, wonderful person and hides all her true feeling from others so I just wanted to write this for her (though I doubt she'll see it) Thanks for reading xx

Hello my friend! I'm fairly new to YWS, so please forgive me if my review simply sucks... Fabulous writing!
I really enjoyed this poem! Masks have been a huge part of my life as I have hidden behind them greatly. Grammatically, this poem was superb! I really enjoyed the topic! It kept me captivated and almost had me to the point of tears once! I loved it! Keep up the good work! I look forward to reading more of your works in the near future!
~Your friend, Skyler
This is really, really, really good. I think it's so nice of you to make something like this for a friend, who puts the mask on and lives every day of her life, looking like someone else. There were lots of grammatical mistakes, which sort of ruined the beautiful scenario. But I can understand why they were there, so I guess I'll let that slide. Other than that, it got very confusing after a while, and I wasn't exactly sure what was happening. I myself feel like I have to wear a mask every now and then, and I think tons of people can relate to this. Keep up the good work, and best wishes to your friend.
I dont know how to stop it going into a single block of text after i upload it D:
