I have just read this book called Emergency by Lisa Rojany. Four volunteers at the ER are all nervous about there first day. Max is a tough girl from the streets who wants her life to have more meaning than the other teens from the block. Dagger is only in volunteering because he got sentenced to it because he didn't want to go prison for stealing a camera to impress the local gang the Icers. Sara is a rich young women who has a bad past of abuse and used to work with children help lines. And last but not least Kyle the posh boy from the suburbs very intelligent but has a surprise when his brother is in a car crash and finds his friend missing his toes.
