Part 1
A new lifestyle
It had been 9 months since Allison Reynolds had finally gotten the man of her dreams. It was finally summer vacation and she was ready to have more time to spend with him. It was their anniversary and she had planned for them to go out to dinner that night. It had to be about 8 o'clock in the morning when she felt the bed sink under someone else's weight. Before she could realize exactly what was going on, she felt Anthony's lips on hers, gently teasing her out of sleep to soft kisses. First on her lips, then her cheeks, and her nose. She was tempted to stay asleep just so he would keep kissing her.
"Wake up darling. I made you breakfast." He said between kisses as he set down a tray beside her on the bed. It had a plate of pancakes, bacon, and orange juice. Her favorite breakfast foods.
"You brought me breakfast in bed?" She asked finally opening her eyes fully. Anthony had on one of her brother's old t-shirts and sets of pajama pants.
"Yes I did. Happy anniversary darling." He said kissing her again.
"Happy anniversary." She said. Sitting up to eat the food. She tried not to laugh while Anthony watched her eat. "Are you entertained?" She asked after finising a bite.
"You are just so beautiful, and you don't even seem to know it." He said.
"Anthony that is a lie. I just work up. I am sure I have bed head and bad breath. I am in pajamas. How am I beautiful?" She asked looking down at herself in her tank top and pajama pants.
"To me you're always beautiful." He said.
"You are so full of it, but thank you." She said laughing.
"Oh am I?" He asked suddenly pulling her into his arms and kissing her fiercely. He had learned quickly over the past 9 months that his world and hers were very different. What he could do in his time was far more restricted then what he could in hers. She could hear the phone ringing downstairs as she was wrapping her arms around his neck when there was a knock at her open bedroom door. She pulled away from him laughing.
"Come in." She called. Her mother had been standing in the doorway and walked in carrying the cordless phone.
"Good morning you two. Allison phone call." Her mother said holding the phone out to her.
"Thanks mom." She said getting up and going up to her mother, taking the phone, and walking back over to sit beside Anthony as her mother left. "Hello." She said.
"Happy Anniversary girlie!" Her friends Morgan and Sabrina yelled into the phone.
"Hey girls. Thanks. So what's up?" She asked.
"What are you guys doing tonight?" Morgan asked taking over the phone.
"Well we were going to go out to dinner. Why?" She answered leaning back against Anthony's chest. He wrapped an arm around her just above her waist and ran the fingers of his other hand through her hair.
"Who is it?" Antony mouthed looking down at her.
"Morgan and Sabrina." She mouthed back as Morgan talked on.
"Well how about all of us going out to the teen club?" Morgan suggested.
"Morgan I don't know. I mean it is our anniversary. We kinda wanted to spend it alone together." She repled as she let out a little laugh that was half laugh and half sigh as Anthony kissed the side of her neck.
"Let me guess you are sitting in his lap, that or leaning against him right now and he's kissing your neck." Morgan said knowingly.
"How did you...?" Allison started to say surprised at her friend’s accurate prediction.
"Please hun it's so predictable. First off you only make that sound when he kisses your neck. Second off you two are always all lovey dovey like that. You two are inseperable I swear. Come on it will be fun. You two can dance and everything." Morgan insisted. Before Allison could protest more Morgan was demanding to talk to Anthony.
"She wants to talk to you." Allison said. Anthony raised his eyebrows as he took the phone from her after withdrawing his hand from her hair.
"Hello?" He asked as he put it on speaker phone so he didn't have to loose his hold on Allison.
"Anthony you need to take Allison out dancing. We have been inviting you two since you officially got together six months ago. Come on." Morgan said her voice louder now.
"Morgan incase you haven't noticed I can not really dance." He said.
"Oh come on. This from the guy who waltzed with his girlfriend at prom and made all the other guys look bad?" Morgan said.
"That is completely different and you know it." Allison said not being able to stop herself.
"Come on Allison you are all leaving tomorrow afternoon anyway for vacation. We want to be able to see you at least a little while over the summer. Besides he doesn't have to dance. We just all want to hang out." Morgan said apparently not suprised that it was suddenly Allison replying instead of Anthony.
"We'll come. What time?" Antony said suddenly sounding reluctant. Allison turned around in his arms and looked up at him.
"Anthony!" She practially yelled.
"8 o'clock. See ya then." Morgan said before hanging up.
"Now Allison before you start scolding me let me explain why I said yes." He said.
"Alright I'm listening." She said crossing her arms across her chest.
"Alright. Well I want to take you out dancing for one. I don't get to take you out nearly as much as I want to. Besides if your friends are there your parents will be more likely to let you go out with me." He said.
"Anthony they love you. I mean come on they are letting you live with us." Allison pointed out. It was true. On the day Anthony had become fully human instead of a ghost and had first met her parents they had adored him. She remembered that day very well. Partially becuase she had no idea what was going to happen to him. She had walked downstairs hand in hand with Anthony as her parents had been walking in the door. "Hey mom, Dad. I want you to meet someone." She had said. Her parents had looked up at her and looked slightly confused as seeing her with a strange guy.
"Who is this?" He mom had asked.
"This is Anthony Heartwell. He's kind of my boyfriend." She said waiting for her parents reaction.
"Heartwell as in the family that used to live in this house?" Her dad asked excitedly.
"Yes. It's a pleasure to meet you both." Anthony replied coming down the stairs and shaking her father's hand and kissing her mother's.
"It's nice to meet you to." He parents said at the same time sounding slightly in awe.
"Actually mom Anthony needs a place to stay. Do you think he could stay in one of the extra rooms?" Allison asked.
"I don't know Allison. I mean we don't know anything about him. Also there would be the worry about you two sneaking off to one another's rooms." Her dad began.
"I promise sir you would not have to worry about that. I am very old fashioned." Anthony said with a smile. Allison had to stop herself from laughing at how ironic his words were.
"Well still we don't know that it would be the best idea." Her mother insisted.
"He doesn't have anywhere else to stay. It is kind of a funny story actually." Allison began wanting to tell the truth, but at the same time wanting to keep it their little secret.
"How is that. Surly he has been staying somewhere." Her dad said.
"Well actually the current problems with my living situation just recently occured. Very recently in fact." Anthony said.
"What happened?" Her mother asked curious.
"You wouldn't believe me if I told you." He said.
"Try us." Her mom challenged. Allison and Anthony looked at each other and he nodded.
"Well to put it simipily Anthony used to be a ghost who haunted my room and somehow I managed to bring him back to life." Allison rushed out.
"You're right we don't believe you." Her father said.
"It's true sir. It is actually more complicated then that, but that is the basics of it." Anthony had said. Finally about another half an hour of explanation her parents agreed to let Anthony stay with them on a few conditions. 1. He was not to sneak off to Allison's room and vise versa. 2. They were not to be in either of their rooms together alone with the door shut. and 3. Anthony was to get a job to pay rent on his room once a month. Back in the present Anthony was laughing before answering.
"I do pay rent. So technically they are letting me rent a room." He said.
"Still what other girl my age has a boyfriend whose parents like their boyfriend as much as they like you?" Allison questioned.
"Do you know how much I love you?" He asked right before he kissed her again.
"Watch the PDA you two!" Her brother Nick called from the doorway. He still did not completely like the way Anthony was living with them. Since Allison had introduced Anthony to their parents he had no blackmail against Allison.
"Good morning to you to Nick." Anthony said pulling away to glance at him.
"Oh shut it pretty boy." Nick said with a glare.
"Nick be nice. You are just jealous cause mom and dad like Anthony better because he actually has manners. Also because we beat you at football the other day." Allison said remembering the backyard football game. Anthony and Allison had played against Nick and one of his friends and had completely creamed them.
"Bull!" Nick said before walking away.
*****
That evening they met Morgan and Sabrina at the the local teen club. Anthony wore a pair of jeans and a botton down shirt while Allison wore a little sun-dress. They sat down at a table and Morgan and Sabrina came running over.
"You guys came!" Sabrina exclaimed.
"Yes we did." Allison laughed scooting over in the booth seat closer to Anthony to allow the other girls room to sit.
"Come dance with us." Morgan insisted after a few minutes grabbing Allison's hand and pulling her away.
"I'll be back as soon as I can escape." Allison called back to Anthony who was smiling. He didn't mind her spending time with her friends. He wasn't comfortable with the dancing in her time anyway. He watched her dancing with the girls and having fun untill some guy tried to start dancing with her.
"Come on baby." He coxed pulling her to him.
"Let go of me." Allison said back, but the man wouldn't let go. After a few minutes the guy got bolder and boldly placed a hand on her thigh. "Let go of me!" She said again trying to push the guy away. Anthony didn't like what he was seeing so he walked over to them.
"I believe she told you to let go." Anthony said.
"Dude lay off this is none of your business." The man said.
"Actually it is my busineses. That happens to be my girlfriend. Now let her go. You don't want to cause a scene." Anthony said.
"Dude I only wanted to dance with her." The man insisted finally letting go of Allison.
"You won't fool me. You had more then dancing on your mind." Anthony said as Allison went to stand beside him. "Now I would suggest you would go off, find some other girl, and leave us alone." Anthony said. The man walked off and did what Anthony had said.
"Thank you." Allison said to him.
"No problem. You're alright right?" He said just as Morgan and Sabrina walked up to them and a slow song came on.
"I'm fine." She said.
"In that case. May I have this dance?" He asked taking one of her hands in his. She laughed.
"You may." She said right before they wrapped their arms around each other.
"Hey you two we are going back to the table." The girls said before walking off. Anthony started leading her in a dance she had never done before. Everyone around the club seemed to be watching them as they danced. When the song ended Anthony walked her over to their table.
"You see I wish I had a guy who could dance with me like that." Morgan said with a smile.
"Well this one is mine." Allison joked leaning against Anthony.
"Of course. Seperating you two would be beyond mission impossible." Morgan replied.
"Well I think we might get going home. We are leaving early tomorrow after all." Anthony said as he glanced at his watched.
"Alright you better call us when you get there though." Morgan said as her and Sabrina hugged Allison. Then they left the club and they walked home. Anthony had suggested they walk instead of drive because it was more romantic. When they got home they went upstairs and kissed each other good night outside Allison's room.
"Good night Allison. I love you." He said.
"Night. I love you too Anthony." She said before giving him one more quick kiss before going inside her room.
Part 2
Vacation?
The next morning her mother woke her up at around 6 to get ready to leave. They packed all their luggage in the back of the van before they all got on. Allison leaned against Anthony and ended up falling back asleep untill he was waking her up by lightly shaking her at a gas station.
"What time is it?" She asked tiredly as everyone else was climbing out of the van.
"Almost 9. You have been asleep for the past 2 hours." He said.
"Where are we?" She asked sitting up.
"You mother said we have about 6 more hours to drive yet." He said. "Do you want to go get something to eat?" He offered. She nodded and they got out and went inside. He bought her a coffee and a sandwich and they went back out as her father was finishing filling up on gas.
"I see you're awake now." He dad said to her with a smile.
"Yup." She said as she climbed back into the van with Anthony following behind.
"Are you kids excited?" Her mother said from the passinger seat.
"Yeah it sounds like it is going to be great." Allison replied while buckeling her seatbelt as Anthony slid into the seat beside her.
“Why are we taking him along with us again? Wasn’t this supposed to be a family vacation?” He said enficizing the word family and motioning towards Anthony.
“Anthony lives with us and he’s dating your sister, so he is kind of like family.” Their mom said souding like she did not know anything else to say.
“Well he isn’t family. You wouldn’t have let me take a girl along.” Nick pointed out.
“That is because we can’t trust you. We know we can trust Anthony and Allison together. They have proven they can be trusted over the past few months. Now get in the van and stop whining.” Their father said. Nick did so though he was obvisouly not happy about it. The rest of the ride passed mostly in silence. Allison kept drifting off to sleep leaning against Anthony, but he didn’t seem to mind at all. He seemed to be more amused then anything else. When they got to the hotel where they were staying they all got out of the van and grabbed their luggage. Allison just stood there for a second looking at the old house which had be turned into a hotel until Anthony came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her.
“I didn’t think I would be trading one old house for another when I went on vacation.” Allison said. The house looked to be just as old as their house back home was.
“It isn’t that bad darling. If you want I will even carry you inside.” Anthony offered.
“I think I just might take you up on that offer.” Allison said just before Anthony picked her up bridal style and carried her up the steps and into the hotel as her parents and Nick followed them. Once they were inside he put her down and went back outside inisting on getting both of their luggage.
“You have a keeper there Allison. He carries you inside and carries your suitcase.” Her mother said as her father checked them in.
“Can everyone please stop talking about how amazing Anthony is?” Nick asked bitterally.
“How am I amazing?” Anthony asked having only just come back inside.
“How are you not?” Allison asked as she reached for her suitcase. Anthony set her suitcase down behind him.
“I am not letting you carry your own luggage.” He inisted. Just then Allison's father came over to them and handed each of them a key.
“You each have your own rooms. We are all in the same hallway. Don’t think this means you can sneak up to each others room though.” Her dad said as he looked at her and Anthony. “You are not allowed to be in each others rooms after 8 o’clock and when you are the doors must be unlocked.”
“Understood sir.” Anthony said. “I swear that I will not try to seduce you daughter while we are here or at home for that matter.” Allison looked at Anthony skeptically. Didn’t he know that most people did not use words like seduce in everyday conversation. Her parents nodded with approval then headed upstairs followed by Nick.
“You swear to try to not seduce me?” Allison asked now that they were mostly alone.
“What? Do you want me too seduce you?” Anthony asked in a joking tone as he pulled her into his arms.
“Anthony there are people watching. Besides you promised my parents.” Allison pointed out. Anthony laughed.
“Give me some credit Allison. I would not try to seduce you in the hotel lobby.” Anthony promised before he kissed her and took their things upstairs while she followed him. When they reached the door to her room she unlockced it and her sat her suitcase on the bed. “Do you want me to help you unpack or should I go get settled in?” Anthony asked.
“I don’t mind either way. Whichever you prefer.” She said. “How about this. You can help me unpack and I will help you. How does that sound?”
“It sounds like a plan to me.” He said. Then they opened her suitcase and unpacked her clothes. Putting them in the dresser that was there before moving to his room to do the same thing. As she was about to put his last t-shirt in his drawer he came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her before pressing a kiss to her shoulder just beside the strap of her tank top. Suddenly they heard running in the hallway and someone knock frantically at the door. Anthony stood and opened the door to reveal an empty hallway.
“What is it?”’ Allison asked as she reached his side.
“Noone’s there. I have no idea.” He replied puzzled. Allison groaned and leaned back against the wall.
“I really hope this hotel isn’t haunted.” Allison said.
“We could certainly ask.” Anthony said. She nodded then walked downstairs to the front desk where the person who had checked them in sat waiting to help a customer. “Excuse me, but we were wondering if this hotel was rumored to be haunted.” He said.
“Son it’s not just a rumor. It is haunted. I’ve seen the ghost myself.” He said.
“What ghost did you see?” Allison asked unable to hold back her curiousity.
“Why the ghost of Lucy Galverson of course. You wouldn’t know it of course. It’s not well known.” The man said with a smile.
“Would you tell us the story?” Allison asked anxiously. The man laughed good naturadely.
“I wouldn’t mind at all. You two sit on down there and I will tell you all about it.” The man said pointing the the chairs in the lobby. They did so and he followed them and sat down across from the two of them. “This hotel was built in the early 1800’s. It was a private home untill the mid 1900’s. You see Lucy was killed in the early 1900’s and her parent’s just couldn’t bare staying here after she died. Do you follow me so far.” The man said.
“Yes, but how did she die?” Allison asked.
“I am getting to that dearie. Just stay patient.” The man replied. Then she went right back to telling the story. “Well Lucy was a pretty girl. When she was about 16 her parents arranged a marriage for her. Lucy didn’t want to marry though. She swore she would only marry for love. When her fiancee came to visit and meet her a few months before the wedding she told him this. They got in a big fight about it and when her mama went to wake her up in the morning she had been killed. Suffocated. Noone knows how it happened, but some say her fiancee killed her out of anger. Of course it has never been proven though. Her brother hunted him down and killed him.Guest have even reported hearing Lucy before waking up having trouble breathing and promptly leaving in the middle of the night. Always young ladies. Just like miss Lucy.”
“Which room does it happen in?” Allison asked.
“I believe room 15 was Lucy’s room.” The man said. Allison immeditally pailed as the man went back to work.
“What’s wrong?” Anthony asked immeditally concerned.
“Anthony he said young girls who stay in room 15 have that happen to them.” She said her voice shaking.
“Yes I heard him say that. Why is that so upsetting?” Anthony asked.
“I am staying in room 15.” She said as more fear crept into her voice.
Part 3
Room 15
Anthony pulled Allison against his chest.
“Calm down Allison. Everything will be fine. Nothing is going to happen.” Anthony said to comfort her.
“Are you sure? What if the ghost of whatever caused Lucy’s death attacks me?” She said as she buried her face agaisnt his chest.
“Allison I would never let anyone hurt you. Weather they be human or spirit.” Anthony vowed.
“Don’t you see the problem here? How you can protect me when we are staying in separate rooms.” She pointed out.
“I will sleep in the hallway if I have too. I swear nothing will hurt you.” Anthony said. She looked up at him as Nick was coming downstairs.
“Did I just hear you say something about something hurting Allison?” Nick demanded curiously. Then he saw how upset Allison was and immeditally became serious. “What is going on here?” He asked before looking at Anthony. “Did someone do something to her? I swear I will hunt them down.” Nick said.
“Nick calm down. She is just freaked out. The clerk told us a ghost story about a girl who died here and that people sometimes have certain things happen to them in the room Allison is staying in. She is worried about it.” Anthony said.
“Come on Allison. You’ll be fine. Remember what dad used to always tell us when we were kids. Ghost aren’t real.” Nick said.
“Thanks Nick, but doesn’t Anthony kind of disprove that theory?” She asked in a whisper. Pointing out the flaw in his logic.
“True, but look at it this way. You have already been pushed off a balcony by one ghost and lived. How much damage can a ghost really do to you?” Nick asked.
“I think I should take her upstairs. Let her rest.” Anthony suggested.
“I am not sleeping in that room.” Allison protested.
“I will be right there the whole time. Nothing is going to happen.” Anthony promised. Then the escorted her upstairs and sat in a chair to keep watch while she slept.
******
Allison woke up to find Anthony in a chair beside her bed reading a book. She got out of bed and went over to him. He let her sit in his lap and wrapped an arm around her while still reading.
“Really? Is a book more interesting then your girlfriend? I mean come on. We are on vacation.” She asked after a few minutes. He finally looked away from the book and kissed her head.
“I’m sorry darling. You’re right. I should pay attention to you.” He said before marking his page and setting the book on the bedside table. Then he wrapped both arms around her and pulled her close.
“I don’t mind if you read. It just would have been nice to be acknowledged.“ She said.
“I was only reading though to pass the time while you slept. How about we go for a walk?” He asked.
“Alright.” She agreed before climbing out of his lap to put on her flip flops then following him out into the hall. They saw a young girl standing there. She had beautiful blonde hair and green eyes.“Hey there.” Allison called to her. The girls eyes grew wide.
“You can see me?” She asked increadiously.
“Yes I can see you. What’s your name? I am Allison Reynolds. This is my boyfriend Anthony Heartwell.” Allison said.
“I am Lucy Galverson.” The girl said. Allison looked on shocked. “You should change rooms right away. That one isn’t safe.”
“You’re Lucy Galverson?” Allison asked incrediously. She turned to leave but Anthony called after her.
“Lucy wait. Why isn’t it safe. Is something going to hurt Allison?” He asked.
“Do you love her.” Lucy asked him quickly turning back around and pointing to Allison.
“Of course I love her. But what does that have to do with anything?” Anthony asked.
“If you love her protect her.” Lucy called back over her shoulder before disapearing. Allison leaned back against the wall for support and put a hand to her forehead.
“What are we going to do?” She asked.
“I know what we are not going to do, and that is ignore her warning.” Anthony said. “At the least we should see what we can find out about her death.”
“Don’t you think if there were clues they would have been found already?” Allison said.
“We weren’t looking then. I mean you solved the mystery of my death.” Anthony said.
“Only because I saw it happen.” She pointed out.
“That’s beside the point.” He said. “I have faith in you.”
********
They found Nick in his room and he opened the door when they knocked a few times.
“What do you want?” He asked as he motioned them to come in. Which they did.
“We need your help. You are one of the biggest sneaks I know.” Allison said.
“Again what do you want?” He asked.
“We just saw the ghost of a girl who was killed here in the early 1900’s. We need you to help us. She warned us about Allison’s room. I personally want to know what we’re up against.” Anthony said.
“Alright. I’ll take the bait. What do you want me to do about it?” Nick asked.
“Well first off I want you to help me keep guard tonight. I don’t care what the danger is. I don’t want it coming anywhere near her.” Anthony said. “Secondly Allison says you used to love ghost stories and may know ways to mend them off.”
“What affects them almost always has to do with who they were. For instance. Maybe this girl who was killed makes herself seen when a girl stays in that room because she wants to protect girls like her.” Nick suggested.
“That is exactly right.” They heard a voice say from near the door. The all turned to see Lucy standing there. Nick jumped out of his chair looking scared beyond belief.
“What the hell?” He exclaimed.
“Watch your language Nick. You may offend her.” Allison warned.
“Don’t worry about that. I have heard just about every curse know to man.” Lucy assured them. “I am surprised thought that you aren’t shocked.”
“I was like you Lucy. Up untill a few months ago anyway. Well in a way.” Anthony said in explanation.
“Lucy what is the danger in my room?” Allison asked.
“Timothy.” Was all Lucy said.
“Who is Timothy?” Nick asked her looking like he had calmed down.
“He was my fiancee. He killed me out of anger because I wouldn’t marry him.” Lucy said with a kind smile.
“He sounds like a sick son of a bitch.” Nick replied.
“Nick!” Allison exclaimed. “Stop cussing in front of her.”
“Lucy could you help us to get ride of him so he won’t hurt Allison?” Anthony asked.
“I would if I could.” Lucy said. “I don’t know what to do though. I will help in any way I can though.”
“Was there something that made him vulnerable?” Nick asked.
“I wouldn’t know. All I know is that he had a quick temper.” Lucy said seriously. “That and he only comes now at night. So we have time to plan out what we are going to do.”
“Well it’s a start. Let’s get to work.” Nick suggested.
Part 4
Plan-A
By the time they were ready to go to bed they did not have much figured out. Anthony volunteered to stay with her over night and for once Nick didn’t argue. By the time morning came nothing had happened.
“Maybe he only comes when the girl is defenseless.” Nick suggested and he, Anthony and Allison ate breakfast the next morning.
“That is the only reason I can think of.” Anthony said.
“So are you suggesting I stay by myself in there?” Allison asked.
“Maybe we can get Lucy to stay with you and we can wait outside.” Nick suggested.
“I don’t like this plan.” Allison protested.
“Neither do I, but I can’t stay awake every night to protect you. As much as I want to.” Anthony said. “We need to settle this so we can get this done with.
“Why don’t you go rest while I go see what I can find online.” Nick said.
“I will go see what I can find out from Lucy.” Allison said. She walked with Anthony up to his room.
“I will see you in a few hours. Alright?” Anthony said.
“Sounds good. I will see you then.” She promised. Then she went up on her toes and kissed him before he went into his room.
“You two make a wonderful couple.” She heard Lucy say behind her. “How long have you two been together?”
“Offically for about nine months. Though we were pretty much with each other unofficially for awhile before that.” Allison said turning around.
“You seem perfect together.” Lucy said. “I wish I had had a relationship like that.”
“Well maybe we will bring you back like we did Anthony and you can.” Allison offered.
“How did you bring him back? I must admit I was curious.” Lucy admitted as Allison lead her to her room.
“I honestly don’t know. I do know that whenever we found out something about his death he seemed to become more human. Maybe it was that once I figured out exactly how it happened he because real just before he fell.” Allison admitted.
“Perhaps. I guess we will find out.” Lucy said with a smile as she followed Allison into her room. The afternoon the girls sat around talking with each other.
“I wish you were human Lucy. We could have such fun.” Allison said after she got control of her laughter at one point.
“We could. It would be off to be human again though. It has been quite awhile.” Lucy admitted.
“Well Anthony was a ghost longer then you and he did just fine. I think clothes would be the biggest adjustment though.” Allison admitted. Lucy seemed to look over her clothing before laughing.
“It would indeed. I would be quite a change wearing pants and no corset.” Lucy agree. Just then Allison remembered why she was supposed to find Lucy in the first place.
“Hey I wanted to ask. Would you stay with me in here tonight. Anthony and Nick would be outside just in case, but we think Timothy may attack only if I am defenseless.” Allison said.
“Of course. I wouldn’t mind at all.” Lucy agreed just before there was a knock at the door.
“It’s me and Nick.” Anthony called through the door.
“Alright one second.” Allison said before getting up and unlocking the door to let the boys in.
“Did you find anything?” Lucy asked Nick.
“No. I couldn’t find anything. Other then the legends that we already know about the hotel. So we are basically going into this thing blind.” Nick said sounding frustrated. “This is crazy. Why don’t we just get another room for you? It would be a whole lot easier.”
“Because that would be giving into our fear. We can do this.” Allison insisted. “My question is why he is haunting here. I mean I can understand Lucy, but why him? He didn’t die here after all.”
“Well that is the thing I did find information on. Ghost don’t always haunt only where they die. Sometimes they can haunt places where they had a strong connection too. Like where they worked or had major events happen to them at.” Nick said.
“Again though. Why here. He didn’t have anything happen to him here that was major that we know off.” Allison pointed out.
“Well that is not necessairly true. I mean the engagment could be the answer. I mean breaking off an engagement is a major thing to the person who is left. He was probably very humiliated.” Anthony pointed out.
“Does it really matter why he is here? What it comes down too is that he is here and is probably going to hurt Allison.” Nick said.
“He isn’t going to hurt her. I will make damn sure of that.” Anthony protested.
“That is the problem. If you stay here protecting me he won’t do anything. I am going to have to be alone in here if we are going to win this.” Allison pointed out.
“I don’t like this.” Anthony said interupting her.
“None of us like it. I am simply stating a fact. I mean I don’t know that we can get rid of him, but if we can make Lucy human like we did you he may leave because she isn’t here. Just like Angelina did when you became human.” Allison said.
“How did you do that though.” Nick asked.
“I think it could be that when I found out what exactly happened to him he became human.” Allison said.
“So you are suggesting a plan based on the fact that you think something? That is not very smart.” Nick protested.
“What is the worst thing that could happen?” Allison asked.
“I don’t think you really want me to answer that question.” Nick said.
********
After several hours of convencing the boys finally agreed to a plan. Allison would spend the night in the room with only Lucy and the boys would stay in Anthony’s room just a few rooms down untill they were needed.
“You be careful in there. If you need me just yell or call. I will come running.” Anthony said.
“I will be. Relax. It will be fine. I will see you when all this is done.” Allison promised him.
“Alright. I love you.” Anthony promised before kissing her and leaving the room.
“Are you worried.” Lucy asked after a time as Allison sat in bed thinking with Lucy laying beside her.
“A little I suppose. Not really though. I mean last time I dealt with a angry ghost she shoved me off a balcony.” Allison said looking up at the ceiling in the dark.
“Oh dear. I don’t think he will try that.” Lucy said. Suddenly they heard something and immeditally fell silent. Then they watched a dark figure cross the room. However instead of reaching towards Allison the form reached for Lucy. The form’s hands wrapped around her neck and tigtened. Lucy began to struggle.
“He choked you?” Allison exclaimed. Then she watched as Lucy slowely became human. The form didn’t leave though or loosen it’s grip. Allison rose to her knees and grabbed at one of the hands. When that didn’t work she bit the arm. The hands withdrew and the form glared at her. Then reached for her. His hands wrapped around her neck and Allsion barely was able to cry out. “Let go of me.” She only hoped the boys would hear her. Her prayers were answered as they heard the sound of someone running in the hall then the door was thrown open and Anthony ran in. The form disappeared suddenly allowing Allison to breath again.
“Oh my god! Are you alright” Anthony asked as he pulled Allison into his arms as Nick turned on the lights. Allison was surprised noone was in the hallway responding to her yelling. Nick closed the door giving them some privacy in case someone came.
“I am fine. Luckily you came when you did though.” Allison said kissing Anthony.
“Thank you for helping me.” Lucy said still on the bed.
“What happened?” Nick asked.
“Timothy came and started choking me. Then suddenly I wasn’t a ghost, but a person again. Allison had to bite him to get him to let go. Then he turned on her.” Lucy suplied.
“The bastard choked you to death?” Nick asked obviously angry.
“Well the person who killed me shoved me off a balcony. Murderers tend to not kill in kind ways.” Anthony pointed out still holding Allison.
“Well that is over now. For now I think we could all do with some sleep. You guys go to your rooms and Lucy an I will stay here. We will figure out what to do in the morning.” Allison suggested.
“I don’t want to leave you alone again though.” Anthony protested.
“Anthony does have a point. I mean. What if he comes back?” Nick said.
“I think we can handle ourselves.” Allison said. “Besides I don’t think he will be coming back.”
“I don’t want to take the chance.” Anthony prostested.
Part 5
Another ghost in the family?
They finally ended up compromising with the boys with the boys sleeping out in the hallway. When the girls woke up they both showered and Allison lent Lucy some of her clothes. She wore a pretty little sundress because she told Allison she wasn’t quite sure she was ready for pants yet. Then they let the boys into the room. When Nick saw Lucy his mouth practically dropped open.
“Nick why don’t you pick your jaw up off the floor and stop drooling?” Allison suggested with a laugh.
“You look beautiful.” Nick stammered out to Lucy.
“Thank you.” Lucy said looking away shyly.
“Maybe we should go get some breakfast.” Anthony said not quite knowing what to do.
“Sounds good to me.” Allison said. Then she and Anthony watched and Nick took Lucy’s arm and led her downstairs.
“Why do I have a feeling those two like each other?” Anthony wispeared.
“Because they obviously do.” Allison wispeared back with a laugh. When they reached the dining room Allison and Nick’s parents were already there eating.
“Well good morning you guys. Who is your friend?” Their mom asked.
“This is Lucy Galverson. She was a ghost like Anthony was.” Allison said.
“Oh lord. Another one? What is with all these ghosts coming back?” Their dad said good naturedly. Then they all watched as Nick lead Lucy over to the breakfast buffet. “Should I assume that she is going to be moving in with us too?” Her dad asked as she watched the two together.
“Most likely. She and Nick seem to like each other. I think she will be good for him.” Allison replied.
“Well we will see what happens.” He mom said before taking a few more bits of her food. During the rest of the vacation Lucy and Nick were inseperable. By the time they were all going home they were officially dating.
“Well for some reason the people in your family fall for ghosts.” Anthony said when they were finally home and they had carried in all of the luggage.
“Well I guess we just can’t resist your guys' charm.” Allison teased.
“Oh so that’s it. And here I thought it was my good looks and refined manners.” Anthony replied teasingly as he pulled her against him in her room.
“Well those certainly don’t hurt your case.” Allison replied before kissing him.
“Is my case good enough to convince you to marry me?” He asked after they stopped kissing.
“Are you serious?” She asked taking a step back to stare at him.
“Would I joke about wanting to marry you?” He asked. “I mean you graduate next year. We can wait till after that if you want. Or as long as you want to really.”
“You are serious about this? I wasn’t expecting this so soon.” She said.
“You can have time to think about it if you want. I know it is a big decision.”Anthony said before Allison stopped him from going on with a kiss.
“I don’t need to think about it. Of course I will marry you.” She promised.
“In that case you need your ring?” Anthony said before reaching into his pocket and pulling out a jewelers box. “Nick helped me pick it out when we were on vacation one day when you and Lucy were shopping by yourselves. I hope you like it.” Then he opened the box to reveal a simple diamond engagement ring. The diamond in the center was cut square and had a round one on ether side of it.
“It is perfect.” She promised as he slid it on her finger before she wrapped her arms around his neck. “You’re perfect.”
“I’m not perfect.” Anthony said with a laugh. “I just love you more then anything in the world and wanted to officially make you mine.”
“You’ve had me since that first night we first met when you scared the hell out of me.” Allison said. “Do you remember?” Anthony laughed.
“Of course I remember. I thought you were a hallucination at first you were so beautiful.” He said. “Now I get to make you my wife.”
“Well I think Mom and Dad's reactions should be interesting when they get this news.” Allison said.
“I though you said they loved me.” Anthony teased.
“ Of course they love you. You’re an amazing man. The most amazing one I know and the only man who I would ever marry.” Allison replied.
“That’s good to know.” He said. Then he kissed her passionantely showing her just how glad he was to be marrying her.”
