Would you read it?

by TigersMoon

Better post: My Book's Development

Ok, so I'm thinking of a story to write and I want to know if you would read it. I don't have a complete plot yet, but a do have a teaser:

What do you do when you lose it all?

Make up for it by helping others? Nope.

Get back up and rebuild yourself? Nope.

Join a group of shady, possibly murderous people? Yep.

RoyalHighness here!

Right away I got a feel of the narrator and I'm already hooked!
Of course leading off with a question like "What do you do when you lose it all?" is a great way to snap a reader to attention. But I'd like to know a little more about the genre... Is it fantasy? Sci-fi? Historical fiction? :P I mean, I don't care, I'll still read your novel no matter what the genre is, but I like to know what I'm getting into before I make a commitment to a novel.
Keep me updated on this! I want to know!!

RE: Would you read it?

Would I read it? Well, there's a group of powerful people, so of course. Plus, it sounds like you have the villainous protagonists. Everyone gets tired of a heroic protagonist from time to time. You might just make this work. Remember me when you're famous.

So, I think that this story could go either way. (okay, I'm really not trying to offend you, I'm just stating what I've seem happen) Either, it can be the most cliche story about a druggie who ends up murdering some one and so on, or it could be a very enticing story to read. So I guess yes, I would read this.

All nice and well, but I think this would have been more fitting in the forums.

Hey mptiger!

So while your list here is intriguing (ooh especially the last one), it would be cool if you had a little more detail for us to get a better idea.
Also, the Writer's Corner forum is a great place to test your plot ideas and get some better help in going about tackling plotholes.

Good luck with writing!

Yes I will read your novel! XD

Hey. I'm not exactly sure what type of work this was. Or I wasn't. And then I understood that this was a preview.
I've been on this site for nearly a year and i have NEVER seen anyone does this. Having said that, I think it's really clever. :)
-nods-
I think this is a very obscure blurb and it's difficult to interpret.
You can't really tell what your novels about just from the description you've given - too ambiguous. :)

What do you do when you lose it all?

Make up for it by helping others? Nope.

Get back up and rebuild yourself? Nope.

Join a group of shady, possibly murderous people? Yep.

I do like the ironic, sarcastic wit at the end of the description. It's very sharp.
So yes, based on that, I would read your novel. XD
Now you just have to write it ;)
