It Was My Mistake

They told me you were a fag
That you really had no heart
That to you I was just a dirt bag
You could kick and tear apart

They told me you’ve never cared
That there was nothing good to you
That all I thought we shared
Was all but true

They said you’d never hesitate
To hurt me; make me pain
And now I guess I’m too late
Cause indeed, my pain is insane

Throughout their whole warnings
I just nodded off
But deep down I didn’t believe those things
I guess I never knew you‘d be that gruff

And here we are again
Another déjà-vu
I left you my heart open
And you took it as if on cue

Took it, held it captured
And I let you, thinking it’d be safe
How dumb to think you’d have it cured
How dumb to think you’d really make it safe

You insulted me, and said it was a fact
You talked about bitter truth
And I cant believe its taken me all that
To realize you’re only filled with soot

I thought we were friends
Thought we had something going on
I thought we had that kinda chemistry that never ends
But all along, I was just your pawn

And its hurting me now, to see the cool indifference
With which you’re treating me
I let you break my half-constructed fence
Now I’m wondering, why couldn’t you just let me be?

The way you show me, You Could Care Less
It hurts, I’m not even gonna pretend the opposite
But I won’t let you turn me into a mess
You did so with my heart, that believed all your bullshit

But I wont let you in a second time
And boy that’s a promise
I know I onced believed you were maybe sublime
And I admit, I never saw it all come to this

But I guess that’s what it’s all gotta come down to
You fooled me twice and I believed
But I’m turning away from you
I wont let you be grieved

Superficial things are always temporary
And sadly I never spot them right away
You found a way to get to me
But deep down I knew, and let you have your way

Cause its only when I’m hurt
That I finally understand
When the pain is far from being curt
When it’s always in constant demand

Of my tears, I see you in the real light
So much tears spilled
Cause I refused to believe they were right

You knew I was weak, so you took advantage
Your indifference was like a knife injury
And I’m still at a certain stage
Where it takes time for me to heal quickly

But I’ll get over you, oh yes I will
‘Cause after all, in the long run
Other things will always come to fill
The void; And you’ll be a distant memory in the sun

Today I’ve finally opened my eyes
Today, I finally do realize

That what they all said about you
Hell every single bit was true

You’re a jerk, You’re a fag, You’re just full of crap
You suck, you’re mean, you’re heart ‘s as coarse as burlap

You lie, you think you’re so freaking superior
Looking down on people, though you’re full of shit to the core

Look in the mirror and what do you see?
An other self-adoring jerk – right down creepy

You walk around with high-bred air
Saying you’d do things; though you’d never dare

You know what you are?
An empty shell full of tar

Stop kiddin’ yourself man
All about you is freaking wan

Call me a hater a now, but you yourself you know
That you’re nothing; nothing else but shallow

I look at you, and I feel nothing else but disgust
You’re full of shit, and superficial rust

I could go on forever, listing all your imperfections
But you aint worth it; you and all your pretensions

Just get off your high horse dammit
You.Are.Full.Of.Shit

And I look at you and shake my head
Im done with you. To me you’re dead.

Just get lost yo. As soon as possible
Cause im tired of you and your twisted soul

Oh and one more thing
FYI: I’m writing all this ‘cause I’m hurting

But I’m not weak anymore
You can’t step on me like before

Just try it, and you’ll see
That I am a new Me.
