A thought occurred I must kill time
but no suitable weapon ever comes to mind
I tried the hammer and the hours rung out
I tried the sword and the whistles still shout
but then I found it I tell you its true
to kill time I found a simple answer would do
I couldn’t do it with a sword or even a hammer
producing naught but noisy listless clamor
so in effortless defiance
I found the answer in silence
