Just asked what were you top 5 most hated books, but now, what are you top 5 favorite books?

In no particular order, here's mine:

1. "Oh The Places You Go" by Dr. Suess: I remember buying this book the day that it came out (I was and remain a huge Dr. Suess fan) and must have read a zillion times over. It's a great book and it still holds a prominent place on my book shelf today.

2. "Ender's Game" by Orson Scott Card: Was assigned this book in ninth grade, and read it over night (as did the half of the class that started reading it the day it was assigned; the other half finished the next night). I've never quite got why everyone likes this book so much, but it's awesome all the same. The Bean series is great too.

3. "Dune" by Frank Herbert: One of the greatest epics ever written, and a brilliant story. Sequels were terrible, but the original is awesome.

4. "Iliad" by Homer: Read this book for the first time in seventh grade, and I read about once a year. They just don't write books like this anymore.

5. "The Giver" by Lois Lowry: Ever since I was little, I loved to read, but it was "The Giver" that got me to start writing. The book is exceptional, and I think it has more depth than "1984," even though that was an influence.

1. The Bible
Tis a pretty good book

2. R.A. Salvatore's Drizzt Books. (Notice the Avatar)
Simply, they're just great books, good, 'elaborate' characters, exciting storylines, etc.

3. Artemis Fowl Books

4. Harry Potter Series

5. Books on Mythology or books of collected mythology stories

2) The High King by Lloyd Alexander

OMG Nate!

The Giver is my favourite book of all time. I keep a copy with me wherever I go. Fantastic.

I can't think of five at the moment, but here's one that I finished last year that's just spectacular:
'The Things They Carried', by Tim O'Brien.

Stories can save us.
words, language - what wonderous
creatures these beings are,
what joyous routes of sorrow and
longing they pave.

I hate to choose, for I can be in a particular mood and favour something over another thing, yet when I'm in a different mood, the other thing suddenly overshadows the something! :o
But here I list what I deem a blurry universal list of most loved books for me:

1. The Lord of the Rings; J.R.R. Tolkien

2. The Hobbit; J.R.R. Tolkien

3. The Tears of Artamon series (Trilogy); Sarah Ash

4. If it counts-the graphic novel series "Hellsing" by Kohta Hirano

5. The Chronicles of Narnia

. Where the Red Fern Grows (*sobs*)
. Er...I don't think I've ever read any other books. xD

And, of course, the Bible, but it's in a much different category.

1. The Catcher on the Rye

2. The Old Man and the Sea

3. R.L. Stine Saga - (One of my favorite authors as a teen. Stine is a clever writer.) The Burning, The Betrayal ... (Forgot last book in this series. It's been a few years since I've read it.)

4. Midnight Summer's Dream

5. Ten Angry Men

Eh, the last two are scripts, but hey, they're just as good as any book. ;)

Hmm.... Can't resist but I'm putting a number six for my choices, lol.

6. Of Mice and Men.

I've read all these more times than I can remember. Slap one of these books in my lap and I'll instantly read it, probably for the eleventh or so time. :D
