About the on-purpose bad grammar as a writing style thing.
I've read a few books like that. I thought the Colour Purple was fantastic. And there was this other book for school by Peter Carey about Ned Kelly. That had no speech marks and bad grammar. It was because Ned Kelly was supposed to have been writing it and he wouldn't have been able to write. Actually I think he based it on some writing that was by some of the Kelly Gang that was found.
Anyway. That was pretty good too. When you got used to the setup it wasn't any harder to read. The book would have been ten times less effective if the grammar was put right.
But on topic. Once my brother was reading a book, and he came and showed me a line that said someone's "eyes were as green as amythest" which I always thought was hilarious. It's not really grammar, but still.
