What are you reading at the moment?

I'm trying, with difficulty, to read Eldest (by Christopher Paolini). When it gets too boring, I switch to Jane Eyre. A weird combination, lol.

Yes, Paolini is quite boring.

Self-Help by Lorrie Moore, a collection of short stories.

I'm currently reading a lecture (eh, is that the right word for a book that your teacher told you two read?) Anyways, its called "Kamienie na szaniec" Aleksander Kaminski - anyone read it? lol

A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens, for English class. I rather dislike you, Charles Dickens.

And, of my own choice, East of Eden by John Steinbeck.

I was rereading The Fellowship of the Ring by, of course, J.R.R. Tolkein, but I'm putting it off until I've finished Eden.

I've never read the Eragon series, but I've heard that it's basically a huge Tolkein rip-off.

I bought Eragon before Christmas because I wanted to see the movie, but not till I read the book. I suspect, though, that I won't read it for a while, meaning I'll have to wait till the movie comes out on video. But whatever.

I'm reading Shadow of the Hegemon, by Orson Scott Card, right now. I read Ender's Game back in November, and then I got all six of those books for Christmas and I've already covered Ender's Shadow. Shadow of the Hegemon has been slower than the other two, but it's still really interesting.

I've just finished reading Eragon for the first time and it was quite good, sort of like a light version of LOTR.

At the moment I'm reading Across the Wall - Garth Nix which is an anthology of some of his short stories.

Also i'm reading The Book of General Ignorance - John Lloyd and other clever people Lots of interesting but random facts in there, though a bit tedious when reading at night.

I went a little mad with my Christmas money and ended up spending most of it on books... Right now I'm reading That Braided Path by Chris Wooding It's his trilogy all in one big fat stinkin' book. Cost me £15 but I'm happy.

Well, it is a re-read, to be precise.

I'm reading Shadowmancer by G.P. Taylor.

I'm like 2 pages into chapter 2 and so far I hate it. And i usually like these kinds of books but it's so cliche. And he jumps around so much i'm confused and i've never seen someone info dump for TWO pages and get away with it.

It was a slog to read - BUT, the story is good, its a shame about the prose.

On Saturday I got "The Ruby in the Smoke" by Philip Pullman, and read it in one day. My gosh, it was good. The basic idea was rather cliche, but Pullman pulled it off in a powerful, gripping way.

I need to get the other Sally Lockhart books soon (!!!!!)
