pour moi:

Charles Baudelaire
Emily Bronte
Ki no Tsurayuki
Edgar Allen Poe
Emily Dickinson
H.P. Lovecraft (if you count prose poetry)
T.S. Eliot
John Donne
William Blake
Elizabeth Barret Browning

meh... I feel like I'm getting too inclusive, so I have to narrow it down to Poe and Bronte.
忍ぶれど色にいでにけりわが恋はものや思ふと人の問ふまで
― 平兼盛

“If I seem to wander, if I seem to stray,
remember that true stories seldom take the straightest way.”
― Kvothe, in The Name of the Wind

What were the use of my creation if I were entirely contained here?

I'm more of a Beat and spoken word kind of guy, but I started out with Poe, Wilde, and Dickinson. Of the three, only Poe makes it onto my favorites list, though.

As for Beat, I love Allen Ginsberg and Jack Kerouac.

Spoken word poets I love: Shane Koyczan, Tim Minchin, Sarah Kay, and Taylor Mali.

Some contemporary(?) poets that also make the list: Joshua Mehigan, Jeffrey Yang, and Billy Collins.

I was weeping as much for him as her; we do sometimes pity creatures that have none of the feeling either for themselves or others.
— Emily Bronte, Wuthering Heights
