While Harry Potter and LOTR are <3 worthy, I've never loved a series more than the Inheritance Cycle. It's a happy medium for me- high literary merit but without an older tone that's a bit more difficult to decipher. Also, I can reread each of the books a bazillion times without ever being bored and I just love 'em so much.
Also, I am disappointed by the lack of other John Green books! TFiOS is the only one I haven't read yet, but Looking for Alaska made my heart sing and cry and stuff.
I agree that it has been a crime that The Chronicles of Narnia and The Saga of Darren Shan are not part of this poll. You cannot list every series but they are still greats. Darran Shan will stay with me for a long time. <3
(Although their attempt at a movie angered me greatly)

Yeah. I watched the movie before I read the books (simply because I was already busy with another series) and loved the movie. I read the books and then watched the movie the second time. It was awful.

People say I love you all the time - when they say, ‘take an umbrella, it’s raining,’ or ‘hurry back,’ or even ‘watch out, you’ll break your neck.’ There are hundreds of ways of wording it - you just have to listen for it, my dear. — John Patrick, The Curious Savage
