By the way, this poll was inspired by an interaction I had with a friend recently who went to school in another country than I did. Apparently, he was always taught that there were six continents, and one of those continents is this strange place called Oceania.

There are six if you treat America as a single continent (which some places do), and eight if you count the subcontinent of India as its own.
