The number of right-handed users is about the same, but there's almost 50% more left-handed users! The ambidextrous crowd has fallen by about 18%. Although since less than 1% of the general population is ambidextrous, I'm willing to bet that most people saying they are ambidextrous aren't really ambidextrous!
Actually, @Nate, less than 1% of the general population is naturally ambidextrous. It's still possible to train yourself to become ambidextrous, although it would obviously take a lot of work over a long period of time. But I agree; given these factors, and the fact that being ambidextrous means you have to be equally skilled at using both of your hands, I have a feeling that a lot of people who say they are ambidextrous are giving a little too much credit towards one of their hands.
P.S.: I'm definitely right-handed, as I'm horrible at using my left hand.
I think all the people who put "ambidextrous" here do it because they can write better with their non-dominant hand than most people can with their dominant hand. Look at a lot of people's handwriting...
