The Saints Youth (Chapter 1) *Comatose*

Reviniare City is home to over 7 million people, going about with their daily lives, without realising the real danger that is thwarted day-to-day by the adolescent heroes that watch over the crime filled streets and the many dangerous lawbreakers. The Saints Youth are a group of supernatural teenagers, who are dedicated to eliminating all illegal acts that endanger the many people that occupy the huge city, and are commonly met with firm resistance. Despite their lack of fame and public status, the team continues to anonymously assist civilians in living ordinary and completely safe lifestyles.

However, their persistence in fighting for the cause of justice has caught the eye of many a notorious villain, a fair number of which too possesses super-human abilities like those of the SY. For them it is merely a challenge to terminate the righteous teenagers and instil anarchy and terror into the citizens of Revinaire, some just for the bragging rights, and others for their own mysterious and diabolical goals.

So if you can handle the challenges that lie ahead, along with the surprising amount of self-discovery that will accompany your quest for justice, we have one question for you: when can you sign up?

Abilities: Uses his eyes to create a subconscious hypnotic state within a target with a lesser mind than his own. He can use this link to create delusions and mirages in the persons mind, both in the waking and sleeping world, as well as mentally control them if they maintain eye contact for too long. He is trained in hand to hand combat in the martial art of judo, which he will use along with his regularly equipped collapsible titanium rod.

Character: Ben is an effective and natural leader, with his bravery and his strong sense of right and wrong inspiring many to follow his lead. He is quite strict at times, but only because he cares about his team, who he loves like family. Because of his hot-temper, he can easily lose focus, and sometimes hurt those he cares about in rage. His ruthlessness when his team is in danger is incredibly narrow-minded, much due to his impatience and lack of self-control. However, outside of combat he can be charismatic and generous, even to people he doesn’t know. He very much lives in the moment with little regret for things he has done in the past.

History: Orphaned at the age of one when his teenage mother walked out on him and his father following the birth, which furthermore resulted in the stress related suicide that brought the end of his dad, Ben had to live in one of the many poverty-stricken orphanages in Reviniare City. Growing up, he realised how much injustice there truly was in the world, especially after a visit from a millionaire celebrity who faked a donation as a publicity stunt. Leer realised he possessed supernatural abilities after he confronted the figure, and had managed to persuade them to donate thousands to the home.

When he became fifteen, Ben had learned much about the capacity of his abilities, and despite the fact his young and reckless mind could have used them to satisfy needs for greed and selfishness, he decided that he could allow the virtue inside him to flourish and protect the unknowingly vulnerable citizens of Reviniare. After pushing his own moral boundaries, he became funded by many famous persons that he had met, requesting construction of a large building and secret appeals for those with supernatural abilities to come forth and assist him in maintaining the word of the law as a vigilante group.

Abilities: Can tap into a persons brain find what he/she are most afraid up and conjour up different scenarios exploiting that fear. Is handy with handguns and does some but not a lot of hand to hand combat. Also is very good with knifes.

Character: Declan holds a lot if pent up rage inside of him which makes him reckless. He is not usually one to act without thinking but sometimes his anger gets the better of him. He hates that he has become a monster who has the capability to kill so he makes up for it by saving people. He is good at taking orders which makes him a great comrade. He is very brave and protective of the people he cares about. When not fighting he is very playful and energetic so he can't really stay still. His weakness is failing to protect the ones he cares about.

History: Declan's family immigrated from Ireland to Reviniare when he was 10 years old. He lived in a dangerous neighborhood filled with gangs and drug dealers. His family was discriminated against so his father could not find work. Declan juggled odd jobs and school until he was 17. On his way home from work day he heard a gunshot and being the brave hero he is went to check it out. He discovered his father's dead body. He had to drop out of high school and give up his dream of enrolling in the police academy to take care of his mother who was dying of cancer. One day Declan went with his mother to chemotherapy appointment and was exposed to the radiation where he got his powers. After his mother died Declan ran the streets of Reviniare fighting criminals until he was discovered by Benjamin Leer and has been with the Saint Youths ever since.

Real name: Celeste Tyler

Gender: Female

Age: 17

Appearance: Long, curly dark brown hair the goes down to her mid-back with side bangs. She has big brown eyes and a pretty smile. She's half-Latina on her mother's side, so she's very tan. Stands about 5'4" and thin but curvy. Very naturally pretty and feminine, often wears flowy skirts or dresses.

Suit: Red and black laced corset with a black skirt. She wears knee length black boots and a red cape. She ties her hair into a ponytail with a red ribbon as well. She wears a red cape with a hood and a red and black masquerade mask.

Abilities: She can shift her shape/appearance. She can shift into several animals and change her appearance (eye color, hair color, height, etc.). She has trouble holding it for too long, and reverts back to her normal self after a few minutes. She also learned fencing from her father and she is very skilled with a sword.

Character: When under pressure she's very rational, calm, and intelligent. She's always the one thinking things through, never rushing ahead of herself. She's typically a happy person, smiling often and making jokes with her friends, but when she's angry she's very cold and self-righteous. If she gets angry at a team member, she'll completely ignore them or storm off, even in the middle of combat. The biggest issue with Celeste though, is that she has trouble focusing and is a bit of a scatter-brain. She's constantly forgetful and because she can't focus, she can't keep her form.

History: An only child, she grew up spoiled and snotty, her father owning a large toy company. She had all of the best toys and clothes that money could buy. But two years ago, her father's company almost went bankrupt, which really humbled Celeste and her parents. The company survived, but since then, Celeste has learned to appreciate all she has and doesn't brag or squander any money. She gained a lot more friends after she changed.

She had trouble sleeping one night, so she went for a midnight stroll. While on her walk, a man pulled a knife on her. When she screamed, Saints Youth found her and took care of the guy. They told her not to tell anyone about them, and she showed them that she had powers too. They asked her if she wanted to join them, and after som debating she agreed.

Celeste is also very athletic. She is both a cheerleader and a soccer player and spends most of her time outdoors. She also fences with her father occasionally.

Abilities: Scarlet Skyline has many abilities; she has the ability to levitate herself and fly (which drains much of her energy); she is stronger and faster than the average human; her eyes glow at night, allowing her to see clearly; and can use mild telepathy, meaning she can communicate with teammates via metal messaging. However, she has a dark secret that can make these abilities useless...

Character: Nina is a flirty and very feminine girl, who is very self-confident and, even, cocky. She finds it easy to overlook things in her narrow-mindedness, and sometimes will disobey a direct order if she feels like it. This can put her teammates in a lot of trouble at times, however, she is not short of compassion, even though she tries hard to hide it. This makes it even harder for her to keep herself alive, as she must feed upon human blood to survive. She will often try to lose herself at times, just to keep her true nature, which even she doesn’t know, locked away.

History: Nina was created as a life form project in a laboratory, using a combination of other supernatural people’s DNA. She was treated with utmost care, and had an easy upbringing. Unknown to her creators, the serum they had used to keep her alive contained blood plasma, which her body adapted to rely upon, furthermore keeping her humane. At 12 the scientist’s attempted to slowly take her off of the serum, she turned hostile, slaughtering most of the people inside the laboratory, and ending up on the streets, alone and scared. She had to learn to survive on the streets of Reviniare, having to protect herself from thieves and other awful criminals.

Having to feast upon blood, Nina had to drink from human sources, many of which she had murdered, and she knew that she could not go on living in that manner. At the age of 15, she had lived in many orphanages, until she discovered the appeal for supernatural beings by the ‘Saints Youth’, to which she replied to quickly. She is now constantly supplied with medical blood packs by the finances of the ‘SY’.

Alias: E-Pulse

Real name: Zachary-Thomas Dale (Nickname; Zach ^^)

Gender: Male

Age: 17

Appearance: He has bright blue eyes and shocking blond hair that sticks up and out everywhere. He has a lean, slightly muscular, lanky build and stands at about 5'9''.

Superhero Outfit; He wears a relatively simple outfit consisting of baggy jeans, a plain white t-shirt under a worn-out brown leather jacket (usually open), black converse, and aviator goggles (usually not in use unless using large amounts of power; when not in use usually somewhere in his hair or hanging around his neck ^^).

Abilities: Has the ability to generate electricity from his body. He's basically a human powerhouse ^^ He can zap people like a living Taser, but he can't hit anyone from more than 5 feet away. If he tries hard enough he can, but it wears him out. He is also capable of emitting an E.M.P pulse but it also takes alot of concentration. Although he has no formal training in any fighting technique he can hold his own in a fight and is quick to learn in the middle of battle.

Character: He is very childish, easy going and random. He has a good nature and a good sense of humor. At times (all the time) he can be very immature and joking.
Deep inside, he cares very deeply about all his friends although on the outside he'll just look like an idiot. If any of his friends were seriously hurt, he'd track down the one who hurt them and give them a beating they won't forget (without telling anyone, of course). He's the kind of person who will do the dangerous jobs seemingly cause he doesn't know the risk but really he doesn't want anyone else hurt.
Anyone who was in the same room with him for more than 5 min would say he's teetering on the edge on sanity. It's not like he's apathetic to others, or that he secretly wants to kill everyone, he's just insane.
Although he's usually harmless, he has been known to have episodes. There are two kinds of episodes. The minor episode, which he's enraged or overly sad or in major fear, in which his powers spark up hard. It's hard but not impossible to reach him. Usually lasts for only a few minutes, after which he calms down or is calmed down. A common warning sign is rapid deep breathing.
The second kind is alot worse. It's when (temporarily) his immediate mental condition deteriorates. It usually takes days to lead up to. The only real warning sign for this is twitching, but it's very hard to pick up on and basically useless when you do. When he starts mumbling nonsense, it's time to run.
During this state he is unaware of anything, or anyone, else. His powers go berserk and anywhere within a quarter mile of him is a kill-zone. The only known way to stop him is to let him get it out of his system, which can take hours. No one has ever reached him in this state. During the episode, he usually just sits where he fell or staggers around and blabbers silently and incoherently, the insanity clear on his face.
On occasion (only once so far) this state has centered around a single person. In this, his only focus is one person and their destruction. His only target so far, his older brother, survived but not without being wounded severely and only because he was highly skilled (also possibly because Zach couldn't find it in his heart, even during an episode, to kill his only brother).
Don't let these episodes define him, cause they don't. The minor episodes happen about 2-3 times a month while the more severe episodes happen very, very rarely. He'll act like they don't get to him but they really do, even though he barely remembers anything from either kind. He doesn't like when anyone else worries for him and will complain if you do, but on the inside he's touched. Really.

History: Zach grew up with his mother. His father had died before he could really know him and his older brother (Zane) had left soon after, so she raised him by herself in their small apartment. She kept them afloat and worked many jobs, which installed Zach's admiration to hard work and dislike of those who take advantage of others.
When he turned 4 they discovered his powers. For a while, electronics would overload when he was in the room, or would suddenly turn on. His mother finally made the connection when he had touched their TV and practically made it explode.
Instead of being disgusted or disgraced she actually encouraged him to develop and control his powers but also told nobody else about him (partially cause of her ever growing paranoia). Together they tested the limits of his powers and helped put them under control.
For a while, life was good. Then one day his mother snapped.
Zach's family has a long history of erratic and insane people. Some cases were harsher than others. After his father's death and his older brother leaving their home, his mother a was a ticking time bomb. She wasn't violent, but she'd go on about nothing in particular, disconnected from the world. Sometimes she'd disappear with in herself, a look of happiness on her face. This started when he was 8.
Zach wasn't angry or very upset. His mother seemed content, so he was too. They took her away soon after one of the neighbors called in her strange actions. He was 10.
After they took her, Zach ran away because he didn't want to go to any community home or be adopted by anyone else (They had no immediate family to speak of). he spent his time dodging the cops and scraping by by making money any way he could. He kept his powers a secret and flew under the radar.
On night, one year after they took his mother, while sleeping in an abandoned industry building he woke to hearing someone else in the place. The stranger eventually emerged into Zach's little light and he discovered it was Zane, his older brother.
At first he was overjoyed, thinking his brother was there to save him and be with him in a new family. But Zane had not come there to help him; he had come to laugh in his brother’s face for not leaving sooner, and for doing such a poor job of taking care of himself.
He revealed to his little brother that he left cause he couldn't stand their mother and that he was glad his father was dead, even though he was happy that it was his bloodline had given them powers. He also revealed that he himself had joined a gang and was already climbing the ranks, and that he should join him.
Zach sat there in shock while his older brother just left, laughing all the way without leaving a trace.
For a while he didn't know what to do, but one night he witnessed a few thugs beating up a man for his wallet. Thinking of his brother, Zach attacked and disabled the thugs and saved the man. The word of his power spread not just in passing rumor of society, but also through-out the criminal empire. All sorts of gangs had given him invitation to join up with them, but he refused. His mother had implanted a strong sense of good and evil into him, and always told him stories about his father, who had been a policeman.
For 3 years, he went around saving as many people as he could, and trying to thwart major gangs. He made alot of enemies on the streets, but also a few friends.
When he was 14 after a long night, his brother paid him another surprise visit. He started taunting him again, poking fun at how he was trying to play hero.
Zach struck out but couldn't land a blow on him. he was too good When Zane starting trashing about their mother and her condition, Zach snapped. It was his first big episode.
He woke up half crushed by a support beam, starving and thirsty. After freeing himself he looked around to see a city block leveled to the ground and many surrounding buildings severely damaged. Later, overhearing two of the cops at the scene he learned that two of the supers were fighting three days before. One with metal claws attached to his hands and the other surrounded by lightning.
The one with lightning was taking a beating from the second. Then out of nowhere first exploded, lightning raining down from the sky all around him; he had leveled the whole block and as witnesses claim, had a mad look in his eye, a crazy smile spread across his face as he watched the second writhe on the ground before him. Then he had collapsed, the second barely escaping.
Zach was horrified at learning this, knowing he had caused the damage. When the people saw to supers fighting, they had vacated their homes so there weren't any casualties, but many were injured.
After the incident, Zach focused on controlling his power even more and training his body. Despite his new focus, he started having minor episodes once in a while, and on occasion had major ones, but never as powerful as the first.
For a while he stopped his late night crime-fighting, and when he felt strong enough went back to it through the Saints Youth, claiming to be new to the city and not telling anyone of his past or his episodes, thinking that since he hadn't had a major one in a while, he'd be fine.

Appearance: He is six foot four and burly, giving him an all together intimidating look. His eyes are small and beady and his nose is hooked. However he never takes off his mask around the other Saints. Generally wears a jacket or a hoodie with his mask.

Abilities: Super Strength, increased through emotional absorption. Without being charged up Smiley is stronger than your average human but not supernaturally so. He can swing a punch like Sonny Liston and take one in return. However he can feed off the emotions of others to make himself stronger. Fear, anger, any form of passion make him stronger. He lacks training with any fighting style or weapon but so far in his life brute strength and durability have been more than enough to win any fight.

Character: Smiley is a rash, violent and confrontational person. He gains an immeasurable amount of enjoyment from defeating a challenge and is almost addicted to it. He will however react badly, very badly, if he cannot defeat the challenge. He will lose most thoughts of logic or safety when he gets angry enough and puts as much thought into plans as a bull does.


History: Smiley grew up in a brothel, unsure which one of the prostitutes was his real mother, though he mourned each one of them when they passed. After they all died their pimp got tired of Smiley living off charity and kicked out. He grew up in an orphanage after that. He had a violent childhood, starting and ending many fights at school until he was expelled from all those willing to take him. After becoming too old to stay at the orphanage he now lives in a vacant flat in the slums of Reviniare.

It was during this time he discovered his strength and began to use it to make money. He managed to survive on the payment from bouncer work and illegal bare knuckle fights, earning a reputation for himself as a brawler as supposed to a fighter. Once he was confident in his strength Smiley returned to the brothel and put the pimp's head through a wall. After he fought off several attempts at retribution he found the Saint's Youth and seeing at as a way he could fulfil his need for challenge while not attracting too much ill will from the law.

--Her costume consists of something a little out of the ordinary. Black dress slacks and shoes, a white button-up shirt with a collar, black suit jacket with tails, red bowtie, and a top hat with a red ribbon around the base. This is all put together with a mask – simple and black – that covers her face down to over her nose, and swoops out to look almost like wings on either side of her face.

Abilities: Inhuman speed and strength, levitation, “Illusions”
-- Her “Illusions” aren’t really illusions at all. They’re perfectly real. Think of her as your average magician, but with things that can and will kill, scare, or restrain if necessary. Everything from card tricks to the classic “things out of a hat”, everything has a purpose.

Character: She’s a somewhat quiet and reserved girl who won’t say much unless she knows a person. She has a definitive hate for needles, and a fear of heights that she acquired at a young age and has never truly gotten over. In costume, however, she almost gains a new confidence, her speech gaining a certain vibrancy as well as becoming more frequent. However, in or out of costume, she will not go anywhere near a flame. No fireplaces, no candles, nothing.

History: Her parents abandoned her at a very young age, leaving her at an orphanage to a woman who was, at best, not the nicest person. When she finally was adopted at age 6, her new foster parents got a thrill of scaring her half to death, which explains her needle, height, and fire-based fears. She also, in the process, realized that she wasn’t exactly what one would call normal. She practiced with the new abilities she realized she had, but hid them from the adults who took care of her. At age 16, she finally grew sick of hiding and the people, got emancipated, and went to live on her own. That sparked a new love for her powers. She continued to experiment, practicing and getting very good, before she finally found The Saint’s Youth. A few months after her move, she was in. That brings us up to now.
