Okay, I'm writing about a society that lives in caves. I would like to know anything you guys know about caves. And my big question is - is there a way to get electricity without people outside of the caves noticing? Some kind of generator or a way to use underground rivers or something? any ideas?
I know a little from my science class. Hydroelectric, or water-generated electricity works by using a current to move a turbine. That's attached to a huge magnet, which does the conversion.
It won't help much scientifically, but there's a novel about an underground city. The City of Ember is its title.

You must never give into despair. Allow yourself to slip down that road, and you surrender to your lowest instincts. In the darkest times, hope is something you give yourself. That is the meaning of inner strength. — Uncle Iroh
