Hello, all!

I'm currently doing research for a novel floating through my brain, that's a retelling of "Beauty and the Beast". It'll take place in an alternate universe, but i want to base it off of nineteenth century France. Any vital information I need to know, such as culture, fashion, art, and the likes? Also, social taboos would be useful.

And remember! If I post this retelling and you come read it, and then say to me "That's not right!" I'm simply basing this on 19th century. :P

But anyway! If you have any information, I would really appreciate it! Thank you!

I'm better with research if you give me specific questions to answer. Feel free to ask or PM me your questions and I'll do my best to help.

I adore the story of Beauty and the Beast and so this has me really interested.
