Ahh, sorry for the inactivity. I've found an alternative to my dead laptop - the family's shared PC - but unfortunately I can only get access to it for about an hour at a time since my dad uses it a lot to work.

@Sagitta Your timing's great, actually: I've just finished another chunk of THAT POST I WAS SUPPOSED TO FINISH AGES AGO AAAAAAAARGH- Yesterday and am currently writing for it. Hopefully I'll finish and publish it today, so there's that.

...Ah. Laptop issues. Welp, that does explain a lot - hopefully you'll find a way to have a fully usable laptop for an extended period of time.
