Posting for notifs as well as a curiosity towards allegiances. My character is a soldier. I'm somewhat thinking he would be best suited as a guard for the princess, or something of that general sort.

I'd think that, despite the fact the princess can defend herself, she'd still be assigned guards, yeah? There can be an interesting relationship there.
