Yes they are talking about themselves. Allie is old and wrote a notebook for Noah to read to her whenever she started to loose her mind(When she was young). She is affected by a disease that affected(really bad) her memory. Almost like amnesia only she could remember at certain times during the day for a short time spand. The old Noah/Duke reads to her every day to get his Allie back! It is a very romantic book/ movie! I suggest you watch/read it! Oh and thanks for the 910! I give you a !000/!0
