Actually my snake was apparently a girl because she gave birth to a baby snake.
So now I've got two snakes.

Nope she's terrified of them. At least the adult, I don't know if she's noticed the baby yet...

I keep it in a cage, but I occasionally take it out, though I keep a careful eye on it.

I don't usually bring Noodles downstairs, and if guests were coming she would definitely stay in her plastic tub. Unless said guests wanted to see her of course, then I would take her out and hold her.
