I'm guessing you're here with a critique request. Please leave your sacrificial offering on the front step. If you were looking to purchase bootleg liquor, please, for God's sake, use the back door.

If you know me at all, you know that I specialize in poetry. You may occasionally glimpse me in the fiction forums--if you do, count yourself among the lucky few. You may post requests for fiction pieces, but I do not guarantee a critique, particularly when it comes to fantasy and sci-fi. Proprietor reserves the right to refuse service to any of you ragamuffins.

Guidelines: Post a link, and say what it is (poetry, fiction, essay, etc).

Here are a few example critiques I've given recently:
Fiction: http://www.youngwriterssociety.com/post388511.html?highlight=#388511
Poetry, line-by-line*: http://www.youngwriterssociety.com/post382160.html?highlight=#382160
Poetry, categorized*: http://www.youngwriterssociety.com/post393391.html#393391

*I can do line-by-line (alternately, paragraph-by-paragraph) or categorized critiques. Categorized means that I divide the critique into areas like diction, imagery, and metaphor. Often a particular piece demands one type of critique, but if you would like to request that I do a line-by-line or a categorized review, I can try to honor that.

I ask for nothing in return, because I'm cool like that.

Here are links to all the pieces I've reviewed from requests in this thread:
So Close, So Far (Cellophane Wall) by aestar101 - Poetry
Moonlight Dances In The Water by BigBadBear - Poetry
Storm by OverEasy - Poetry
The Love Note (Chapter one, edited) by Jamie_rocks - Fiction
Bitter Beauty by OverEasy - Fiction

Hi, I know you said you prefer poetry, but I really need critiques on this. It's the first chapter of a supernatural novel.

topic33373.html

Please be as harsh as you can, I won't take offense. I especially worry about dialog and character development.

Thanks in advance. :)

Jared and OverEasy - I should be able to get to those within the next few days.

Jamie - We'll see about that story.
