I flash a smile back at him and feel someone playing with my hair behind me. I turn around to see my mom, braiding it. "Hey." She says, flashing a smile, sitting next to me.

"Hey." I flash a smile back.
"Your Jace?" Aphrodite asks, still doing my hair.

"Uh, yeah." Jace replies, looking back at her.

She nods, "I'm Aphrodite. Nice to meet you." She says, finishing my hair.
"I haven't seen you in a while." I say, turning to her.
She shrugs, "Places."

He nods politely and looks back at Rayah.

I flash a smile at Jace and my mom looks at us. "Congrats." She says, standing. "I'm going to talk to your father." She says, teleporting to the other side of the party.

I turn back to Jace. "You look handsome tonight." I say, fixing his collar.

He smiles at her as she does so, admiring her. "And you look as beautiful as ever."

I shrug, "Katie. She kinda over-did it." I smiled, smoothing my dress.
