That... as almost cheesy as that sounded, he wondered if it was that simple.
And then it hit him, differently than it had before.
Saying goodbye to her was inevitable. He'd said it himself. But it was more than just parting ways - she'd be going back to an entirely different world, with different magic, and a different history. Completely and impossibly unreachable, once she was gone. But maybe it was better that way.
