I reveal myself when I hear Riley hurt, demanding the demon to release its hold on her.

Jessa

I look at the boy, smirking, "Yeah? I don't think so."

I swallow, eyes closing. Violence...

Chase

I rub the back of my neck, "Maybe you should, Jess..."

I hesitate before stepping in, my being chasing the darkness away enough for me to pry Riley out of its wrath and into my arms.

Jessa

I watch, shaking my head before looking at Chase, "Your on their side?"

Riley

I hold onto Gray, staying close, and glare at Jessa. Roots slowly creep it's way to her ankles.

Chase

"I'm not on anyone's side," I say. "I just don't think you need to hurt anyone. We were told to talk to her, not choke her to death."

I wrap my arms around her tightly and watch the two demons, noticing the roots crawling towards the girl.

Jessa

I just shake my head and walk out, slamming the door and dissapearing outside.

The other demon-guy just stands there awkwardly when she leaves. I study him, the roots stopping

I swallow and hesitate before walking back to our room.

I look at Riley after the guy leaves, "You okay?"

Jessa

I keep outside and lean against a tree, sliding down it and bringing my knees to my head.

I don't answer, staring at the door, traumatized.

I curl up on my bed, hoping Jessa wouldn't hold it against me.

I set a hand on the side of her face and turn it to me, repeating my question.

Jessa

I start crying, I don't want any of this...

I snap out of it and look at him, "Y-Yeah."

I hesitate before heading out the door and looking for her.

I study her before shutting the door and scooping her up, setting her on the bed.

I keep my head in my knees, trying to keep calm.

I glance at him, "A-Are you gonna stay? You a-are right?"

I find her beneath a tree and sit beside her, apologizing and wrapping an arm around her.

I nod without hesitation, brushing her hair out of her face and kissing her forehead, "Yeah. I won't leave you like this."

Jessa

I push him away, shaking my head, "I-I just want to be alone. J-Just..." I can barely get it out, crying still, "G-Go."
