According to legend, the one who incubates the Butter Dragon's egg will receive culinary powers beyond belief. A spell that, when cast, makes a butter more delicious than any butter ever produced before. But a journey to find this egg will not be easy, for the secret organisation of Pastry Clerics have made it their mission to be the ones to hatch that egg. They even have a magic blanket prepared for it.
In a medium-sized coastal kingdom, the Toastiest King of the Land has summoned his knights. They await him in the throne room, where bakers bustle in and out and a great number of danishes are being dished out by the tray. The king makes his announcement.
"Who will be brave enough to escort me to the Butter Dragon, so I can hatch this egg?"
Sabrina stepped forward almost as soon as the words were out of the King's mouth. She had to of course support her king in this rather sensitive matter. There really was no question about it. Besides she'd heard enough things of the butter dragon to know this quest would come with a great many rewards.
"I, Lady Sabrina Sourdough the Duchess of Tang would like to volunteer to be your escort sire." She dipped her head in a bow. "I will aid you in every way I can right down to my last breath."

Hello! You? Yes you reading this. Have a nice day because you're wonderful and you deserve it!
Aeron had raised his hand right away, but hesitated as he saw Sabrina’s mini-speech. He hadn’t known he was supposed to be being all eloquent and stuff. He put his hand down, feeling stupid, but it was too late, he could tell people had already seen him. He cleared his throat and ducked his head, blushing. “Um… me too?”

Lady Cristina Snapdragon had no such eloquence, nor was she apologetic about it. “I volunteer. Someone’s got to stand up for dragon rights.” She inspected the hilt of her sword. Her fellow knights didn’t seem like the dragon-slaying type so far, but you never knew.
Marion stood quietly by Sabrina’s side, keeping her yeastick level in front of her. Fae kept faer eyes level. Her first job was to protect Lady Sabrina. If Sabrina went on this quest, fae would follow. So, when the king’s eyes met hers, she nodded.
“I will accompany my lady, your highness. Wherever she goes.”

Sir Edward M. Crawfunkel shouldered open the door, which had closed on him unexpectedly. He came running into the room. "Your Grace!"
He tottered slightly across the throne room from the momentum of his earlier sprint. Finally, he took to one knee, but not before bumping into several people in the process. "Your Grace, please! If you would have me!"
Aeron glanced around as a few other knights introduced themselves and volunteered, embarrassment slowly dwindling as he munched away on a danish. It looked like they were going to have a good -- albeit odd -- team to do this mission with. He waited until there was a natural lull in the conversation, then caught the King's eye. "When shall we leave, sire?"

The Toastiest King of the Land stroked his auburn beard. "We shall leave in two days, at dawn!" he declared. The Butter Dragon's Isle was to the west of the kingdom. In theory, they should be able to sail there from the port of the capital city.
"Sir Edward, you will arrange for a ship to be prepared for our departure."
"Yes, your Grace!" Sir Edward cried. He was excited at the prospect of sailing again, after so very long.
The king continued. "The rest of you may leave to prepare supplies and your personal belongings for this journey."
"Thank you for the honor sire. We will be well prepared for any and all obstacles that may remain in our way." Sabrina bowed again and turned to her wife.
"And thank you milady for choosing to accompanying me."

Mario smiled. “As if could let my duchess travel the kingdom without her protector.” She patted Sabrina on the shoulder.

Aeron happened to overhear that and turned towards them with a small smile and a nod. "Sir Aeron Munen, at your service, miladies."

"Please, just call me Aeron." He offered a friendly grin. "And the pleasure's all mine -- I look forward to serving alongside you all."
