You were the first boy
that I ever really liked.
Then you turn around
and don't treat me right.

I've got the blues.
Yeah, and I hate cryin' over you.

My friends tell me
to forget you and to
just move on.

Then I realize your no good.
When I see another girl
fallin' for your charm.

Thats when I fall apart again.
The blues take over me.
I crawl into my shell
and want everybody to let me be.

Now I can't take it anymore.
Being sad is for the birds.
I remember what my daddy told me.
Slowly I replay his words.
He said "Baby, that boy is just no good.
Don't let him get you down.
Pick yourself up and stand your ground.

So thats what I did.
It was a quarter to three.
I walked right up to him
and said,"I won't allow you to do this to me!"

I no longer have the blues.
Yes I gave that boy a piece
of my mind.
He no longer bothers me.
And I feel just fine.

Yeah yeah!

Writing is my thang. But you can express yourself in so many different ways.

erm.... It seemed rather laughable.

What with the near-shallow subject matter and the weird addition of the 'I've got the blues' line.

It made me think of the kids in the Kraft commercial. On crack.

But it certainly seemed lyrical...
The good parts of a book may be only something a writer is lucky enough to overhear or it may be the wreck of his whole damn life — and one is as good as the other.
