My poems about life, death and love etc. I used poetry as a way to keep writing when I was struggling to write my books. I’ve found it to be a really nice way to express myself and I’d love to start integrating my poetry online as well.

Dark as a Summer’s night
Standing under the starry sky
Gazing at their twinkling flash
Contemplating their beauty
Standing under the starry sky
Dark as a Summer’s night

The Diaz Cross: 4.5 Kilometres And Back

A feeling overwhelms me
A thunder inside louder the crashing waves
That drives away the rain
And the people sitting lazily on the bus
So I walk up the brittle wooden stairs with triumph
And awe and absolute splendour
Platform slowly climbing across the wild growth
Rising to the top carefully but I run
Knowing I could trip but I don’t care
Because the waves are so brilliant
And the rocks are so amazing
And every single time I step it creaks
But I don’t hear because the explosion of the waves against centuries of stone is so beautiful
I don’t even feel the drizzle of rain falling in puddles
Because I’ve reached the top
And now I can finally see the cross

Run

My heart pounds insanely
Throbbing up and down with a slow beat
Rocking back and forth in perfect rhythm
And then it stops and all I can do is contemplate
Because my heart’s stopped
I’m spinning
Lights all around me but I’m outside
But I feel so far away
Not watching
Not turning back
Living a life I never had
Sprinting across the sky with grace
Like a deer across the forest
I gallop to metropolitan
My forest
My home
Never crossing back to my old one
That I’m sure I’ve already forgotten

Oh Acrobat

Acrobat flying across the sky
How do you go so high
Acrobat springing on a trampoline
How do you fly
Acrobat shot from the cannon
How in the world do you survive

Heart racing
Heart pounding
I stare at the audience
And leap like a leopard to a tree
Clawing for a hold
But I always fall

Acrobat on the net
Are you okay
Acrobat on the net
Are you ready yet
Acrobat on the net
You're me

Let go

Rock crumbles into the ocean with force
Bouncing across the surface with speed

I quickly pick up another and throw
Eyes scanning the lake for rings vibrating

Letting go finally as my arm arcs through the air
Another set loosed and I search again

Voice cracking with silence joy as I stare
The dead fish rotting in my hands turns me green

My eyes well up and I cry for nature
I apologise. I killed another

Follow The Leader

It hurts
It always does
When they
Shout
Scream
Pound
Hurt us
For the pleasure
Of attacking someone
Different and unique

It hurts
It always does
When I
Whisper
Write
Gossip
Insult people
Like me
Just to fit in
And be a sheep

Like An Angel
A woman cries
Every time a child dies
Hugged by the gentle
Arms of their god
And yet the black of grief
Inside overwhelms them

They slowly let themselves
Slip away to untimely death
Pure white wings and glowing laurel
Death pale and drooping
Like an angel touched
By the devil's lips

Spoiler! :
6 poems already and we're only on day 1? You're going to finish your goal in no time at all! :) Nice variety in structure and subject too - especially enjoyed the imagery in your first poem. Keep up the good work, and best of luck this month! You've got this!
you should know i am a time traveler &
there is no season as achingly temporary as now
but i have promised to return

Spoiler! :
Thank you @lliyah! Not all of these are my best poems so I'm just hoping I can sort out one or two afterwards.

The Fountainhead

Water rushes out
Of the fountain's granite head
Through the morning air

A Race I'll Never Win

I race with your heart
Like a wild galloping horse
Your heart always wins

I feel like it will be absolute hotdog water, but oh well. It's just a draft.
