What is April Madness?

18 Poets face off against one another to be named the supreme poet of YWS! They compete in a series of rounds, each poet submitting a poem to be compared with their opponent's.

The Competitors

Please post on this thread to sign up for one of the places. If there are no places left but you wish to take part, please sign up to be a replacement. All replacement poets will submit a poem during round one between the 1st and 3rd April. Should any contestant fail to submit their poem, you will then face their opponent instead.

Sign ups will run until the 3rd April but if we don't have 18 by then, they will be extended through the duration of round one. Anyone joining after the 3rd April should post a poem regardless of whether they have been assigned a rival yet.

Updated! Quite a small group so far but that just means a better chance for me someone else to win!

Awesome!

If it stays as quite a small group, I think we'll do an all vs all style tournament for maximum madness :D

Yep, I'll join. I don't expect to make it very far, but I want to try my luck and see how far I can make it. And, of course, see how my poetry fares against those of some of the best poets on the site. ...Yeah, I'm doomed. XD

Judges can participate, right? Cause I would love to do both, but if I have to pick, I'll be a judge. :)
