Here, a haiku. It's late and I'm tired, so enjoy!

1. small caves

a sound like thunder,
in small caves hide large secrets;
beware of dragons.

Spoiler! :
Thanks to @AdrianMoon for the prompt!

Day two! Here, have a triolet. It's not my best and I literally wrote this in, like, ten minutes, but enjoy!

2. airy spirits

those airy spirits of the soul
who hunt before dawn's gaining light.
embrace the grounds where
those airy spirits of the soul
dwell beneath dead-tossed waves.
breathe in life and breathe out death, like
those airy spirits of the soul
who hunt before dawn's gaining light.

Here's number three;

3. snowflakes

the air trembles with the dawning
of a winter storm; snowflakes of desire
whispering through the trees and
speaking of the calm before the storm.

snowflakes settling in hair and on skin
in the aftermath of the storm.

the air trembles with music and laughter;
a village cheering on the end
of the summer storms; winter is coming.
you should beware of teeth and claws.

snowflakes drift on sighing winds
in the aftermath of the storm.

This one, man. This one. I don't even know. Here it is anyway.

4. the little stains

everyone has their demons because
it's the little stains on life
that make you try to cut out the good with the bad.
everyone has their demons because
they leave scars in our mouths and
bruises on our skin; a reminder of things
rather lost than found.
everyone has their demons because
it's the little stains on life
that make us proud of who we want to be,
and not who we actually are.

Spoiler! :
I do believe @AdrianMoon gave me the prompt for this one, too. <3

Here's the next one. It's a bit early, so you lot are lucky little trolls. :P

5. the house set ablaze

she thought it was forever;
a love that never dies.
romance full of passion
with magic that would never fade.

the sheets were made of silk;
the house the size of a mansion.

he said it was for eternity;
a love that never fades.
romance and seduction;
a relationship that would never die.

the doors were locked (from inside)
and the keys were hidden fine.

she found out it was all lies;
a romance built on secrets
and hidden sins
squashed between the stairs.

the sheets were left in ruins,
the house set ablaze.

honey, secrets aren't meant to be shared;
that's sins, and my sins are yours.

Spoiler! :
Again, you can thank @AdrianMoon for the prompt. She's brilliant like that. ;)

So, technically, I wrote this the other day for @Aley's writing tournament. I suppose it counts since I did write it during April. Enjoy~

6. wings

brilliant silver-tinged wings
so majestic and strong
will grant you skills beyond words
and the ability to fly up high;
one fallen angel's soul.

@Flite made me do it! Here's a poet's universe poem thingy, @Audy

7. because i never learned the names

because i never learned the names
of yarn and knitting needles;
wool the colour of a summer sky,
little paws swiping at the thread that dangles near
soft ears and wondering eyes;
fur and claws, that flicking tail.
because i never learned the names
of those knit-knit-stitches
you were so fond of, friendly little ball of fur;
like sunset in summer, you were orange and white-red;
blue eyes looking up at me, watching
the multi-coloured yarn swing by;
i never did learn the name of that curious kitten
who used to play with my wool while I knitted.

Spoiler! :
Thanks to @AdrianMoon for the topic suggestion.

The result of poetry games with @Rydia and @Tuesday. Enjoy! (Please note, only the lines that appear here from in the first section are mine. Any others belong to Rydia or Tuesday. <3)

8. mountaintops

i.
with skin like rain-kissed roses, the nymphs danced
their laughter crashing like broken waves
against mountaintops and battle-worn valleys,
music to the ears; mystical and mysterious
like an arrow to the hound.

ii.
like an arrow to the hound,
where i come from,
apples are sweeter than songs,
music to the ears of the mystical
and mysterious;
laughter crashing like broken waves,
the archer and his companion,
a dog that was found.

iii.
all mountains are battles waiting to be fought;
with skin like rain-kissed roses;
an arrow to the hound
against mountaintops and battle-worn valleys;
arrows hounded out plight.

So I went digging through my old poetry here on YWS and found some lines and stuff I liked. Mix-n-mash time. Last stanza is all new. Day 3 prompt for @Audy's poet's universe thing. Enjoy!

9. forgotten

lay me down beneath the heather.
let me soak up the lack of winter sun,
like the darkness beneath the waves;
a thousand leagues into the sea.

why don't you rip my soul in two?
it's as natural as the in-and-out of an ocean's waves.
a spray of red and gold, as all that was
did watch on from the dark spaces between the stars.

so lay me down beneath a winter sky,
Let me know how much we hurt,
when you lay me down beneath the heather
on mountain high and valley wide.

red as the embers of a forest fire
and the petals of a wilting rose;
the warmth of a sun she had never seen
like the darkness beneath the waves.

all things lost are never found;
like the glory of a once-splendid ship,
turned to dust and fine sand.
a relic better left forgotten.

So. I was bored and I am still ahead. Here, have some poetry.

10. if not for you

i chose the place where
i would rest, before i see another day;
moonlight fading, dawn approaching--
it is with great regret,
that I sleep for a thousand years,
and might have slept a thousand more
never waking, if not for you;
you sought me out
and called my name.

if not for you,
i would have slept until
the ends of time,
unaware of a world on the verge
of war, famine, apocalypse;
a cycle of rinse-wash-repeat.
i had grown weary of it,
retreated out of ennui, boredom;
you brought me to life again.

but i can never have you;
you want my curse but that
curse is not you you;
blood, blood, blood,
that is all I desire,
it doesn't matter if it's yours
or anothers--
to be honest, I wouldn't care;
i wouldn't wish this life on anyone;

if not for you,
i would still remain, forgotten.

eternity is a long time
for us to realise we can't die.

So after a long silence, I am back! And with poetry. Enjoy! Day 5 prompt for Audy's poet's universe thing.

11. the pearl diver

the water was cold, and getting colder
as i dove beneath the waves;
a hundred feet down or more
to where the pearl-blessed oysters rest--
through shark-infested waters and hostility
to find the largest, most perfect pearl.

gripping the rock with greased up hands,
a tortise-shell clip on my nose and
greased cotton in me ears, i dive deep;
a hundred feet and more down into the darkness
for risk versus reward; sink or swim,
a net to hold my haul--drown or survive.

my life as a free-diver is dangerous,
full of a desire that is not mine;
i dive for a master, no free slave am i.
the net i carry is sparse of my prize,
no pearls to discover in light of expectation;
my life is mine, so on a single breath, i dive.
