So. One down, twenty-nine to go. Not my best, but better than nothing! Enjoy;
1.a - summer storm
i used to walk along the beach, watching the tide as it rushed in and out, to a steady rythym. sometimes in the afternoon, i'd catch a glimpse of blue-green beneath storm-tossed waves; the glint of light off scales and hair, as something breached the surfuce; pale skin, big eyes and sharp teeth. And then she'd been gone, and the cove of mystical wonders would fall still, awaiting the next summer storm.

Here; more poetry of questionable quality. Enjoy! 2/30.
2.a omens
little girl with hair so fair named two men as sons of war; she said that one would be a tyrant, a conquerer of old, and that the other would be a martyr, a man of honour and gold.
little girl of myth and rhyme told of two kingdoms at war; she said a son of each would later end it, both of a noble sort; it was an odd prophecy she told and at an even odder time.
little girl who soon grew up came to know of the tales she told; of war and men, and gods of old, forgotten but not quite lost; the conquerer's son and the wise one's heir.
little girl who now knew her words told of two heirs, lost and now returned; she said they would meet and later there would be more, but for now, they would be found and bring an end to the war.
and so the little girl said, her prophecy, the tale she told would be named for what it was, a tale she spun of men and war, of conquerers and noble sorts; her omens of disgrace.

Oh, look. Two poems for the price of one. @Aley <3 thanks for the help!
Enjoy~
3.a revolution
i used to live in a country so vast and so free of war or hate until i heard an awful bruit; there's gonna be a revolution
the commoners are worried, and rightly so for the rumours go on and on, and rightly so; it is a whisper here, there's gonna be a revolution
i travelled so near and far beyond the boundaries of my home, and still the whispers do linger here; there's gonna be a revolution
the poor are dying while the nobles live on, i can see the despair, the death, the fear, and yet the rumours are still flowing round, round; there's gonna be a revolution
4.a a hero's song
there once was a hero who held all the cards; he outwitted the villains and all of their grunts. there once was a hero who was wise and strong but he fell to an axe and so came this song.

Now here's another two for one deal. Day 5 and 6. Quality is questionable, but you know. NaPo and all. Enjoy!
5.a last wave
catch a glimpse of silver and gold see the way it sparkles; all glitter and shine painted green and blue beneath the foam and spray
a glimpse of hair, a glimpse of scales; blue-green and dark, a darting movement in the deep, a glint of light off something deep beneath the ocean's last wave.
6.a walls have ears, you now
a dream within a dream or so the rumour goes do speak it softly, please walls have ears, you know
or so the rumour goes for this hunger lingers here walls have ears, you know do hear it softly spoken so
for this hunger lingers here full of nightmares and screams do hear it softly spoken so ears are listening, you know
full of nightmares and screams do speak it softly, please ears are listening, you know a dream within a dream
Day 7 and 8 coming soon

Ooh, I like 5. 7 gives me a creepy feel - but in a poetry that can be improved to be really nice and creepy way. (Also, lass/pass doesn't rhyme in my head. )
~ Pretending in words was too tentative, too vulnerable, too embarrassing to let anyone know. - Ian McEwan in Atonement
@Lava Structured poetry. Bane of my existence. XD I'm glad you like 5! 4.a is my five for sure right now. Lass/pass doesn't really rhyme well, does it? I may need to rewrite that one.
The next one should be up as soon as I've written it....which may take some time.

Lass/pass rhymes perfectly for me? :O American FTW!
So Scar, I am loving how these poems are all thematically congruent to one another which makes it all the more enjoyable to read them together because they play with one another. I feel like all your poetry does that though, we're taken back to middle ages or fantasy, to heros and war/battle, but I dig that. 1.a brings a very mystical feeling to all of this and 2.a sort of plays about prophecies, war/battle and on the one hand, you've got like a really happy-toned "pretty" poem, and on the other, you've got the darker dangerous one, which is what I mean with how they're playing with one another It makes it enjoyable to read them all together. 3.a I love how it is songlike and lyrical. 4.a makes me laugh xD I loved it too cause it says more than it says, y'know? It really makes me reflect on prior songs and the way we do honor those heroes/glory and all that. Plus, just funny. 5.a this one reminds me of 1.a almost like a return to it which is interesting how the two pair together. 6.a Oh I love the rhyming in this. And that's really hard for me to admit that I like rhyming at all. 7.a this one totally makes me question the motives and integrity of the speaker XD I dunno if that's intentional, but I thought that was cool.
Here's number 8! A bit late, but I'm getting there. You can expect a few more out of me today. Enjoy!
8.a beauty fair
there once was a maiden in great distress, she was a beauty fair faced with great despair; the dragon that guarded her was making a mess and it was really quite the abrupt, violent affair, but she was a smart girl, and wise beyond remiss; until it came to honour, what a beauty fair. One day, that maiden was rescued by a brave knight and together, they spent their years in delight.
Also, I'm running out of ideas! Help?
@Audy, haha. ilu. 4.a is my fave, as I've said before. It is kinda amusing, isn't it? And yeah, also kinda sad, the way we make the heroism seem all glorified and stuff. It's not; it's pain and blood and fighting and suffering. So it's good that it made you think about the hero ideal and also made you laugh. I'm pretty sure some "Heroes" died in quite a few amusing ways.
Also. Pretty sure 6 and 7 are structured, and I loath structure, but y'know, I think they work okay. 8 is an Ottava Rima. I struggled with that one a lot. That's why it's taken me so long to write it. XD Haha, 7 is totally suspicious, ain't it? And yeah, it was semi-intentional. >.> 6 was fun to write, though I did struggle a little bit.
Structured poetry. Bane of my existence. XD Enjoy! <3
