You copy your story and post it into the text box, then click submit. It then gives you the total word/character count.
You can't lose your work that way, unless you directly type the story up on that website. Don't do that. Type it up on a Word Doc., copy, and paste over in the text box at the site.
It's not that hard, and it's a requirement.

@umaima@Blackwood - You misunderstood. You may choose whatever number you want, I just asked that people avoid choosing the same. For instance, if you flipped through the comments and saw 3 was chosen by at least three people, I'd want you to try a different number.
