Music. Music music music. Possibly one of the most beautiful things in the world, to me anyways.

I'm a choir nerd. To me, music is air, is the bricks of my foundation. It's my very soul. I'm the one that finds inspiration in songs, that often takes the moral and writes a short story out of it. Music motivates me.

Because of this beautiful gift God gave us, I'd like to run a contest based on music and inspiration in songs.

I want you to pick a number between 1-15. There is a list, which will not be seen by anyone other than me. You pick a number and I assign you a song. Then you write me a short story based on that song, whether it's with the lyrics or about the moral/meaning of the song itself.

Rules
1. You may only change your song once. So if you pick 7 and don't like what it is, then you can pick a new number.
2. Short stories only.
3. Your word length must be a minimum of 600 words. You may use this word count tool for help.
4. Please do not tell others the number of your song(s). This includes in your story.
5. Include the name of the song in your story, as an Author Note (A/N).
6. The contest begins Aug. 28th and ends on Sept. 12th. No contestants will be accepted after the 28th. Please do not submit your entries until the 28th. I want to avoid possible cheating.
7. Failure to obey these rules will end in a disqualification.

Every submission will get a review. That is a promise. You write it, I read it.

Prizes
All entries - One gift
2 honorable mentions: 1 review, whenever you want it, and 200 points.
3rd prize: 2 reviews, whenever you want them, and 500 points.
2nd prize: 3 reviews, whenever you want them, and 800 points.
1st prize: 4 reviews, whenever you want them, and 1000 points.

Please note that if a certain number is picked too many times, I will request you choose a different one. So please read the comments above yours and try to be diverse, guys!

Alright! Remember, 1-15 only. So go ahead and comment your choice below. I will PM you with the song. You get one change. Do not share the song that goes with your number, please.

I could probably come up with well over 15 reasons why I shouldn't do this.

But I'll just pick number 13 instead.

Also, if we don't like the new song, can we go back to the old one? :P

How the heck do you use the word count? Cause I'm not copying it on there. That ticks me off a lot, so HOW DO YOU USE IT? I almost lost my story everytime I try to paste it on there.
