It always depends on the POV. Some consider all of America as one continent, others all of Eurasia, etc... I mean there are some theories about the number of continents, and what we learn in school is just a choice that somebody made.

I see Mexico downwards as one continent - Latin America. North America consists in my opinion only of Canada and the US. Then you have Africa, Asia, Antarctica, Oceania and Europe.
