Point of fact, it was translated by Sega of America. It was just a direct, word for word translation. Though, Sega has never been the best in the gaming industry. When they were still making systems, they got pushed around a lot between Nintendo and Sony. The original (v.2) Playstation was supposed to have a nintendo capeable port in the back, making it possible to play PSX or N64 games on the same console. It would have saved both of the companies a lot of money, and would have turned a profit for the upcoming Sony Entertainment. But then Nintento turned a deal with Sega, a rival of Sony's at the time, and they worked together to turn out a Sega made, handheld system. Sony backed out of the deal, and shipped PSXs with no Nintendo console. Later, Sega was pushed to create a 128 bit system and bring it out before the PS2 was to be released. They basically took two existing 64 bit systems and linked them together, creating the atrocity that was the Sega Dreamcast. Notice, it didn't last long. As soon as the PS2 launched, Dreamcast started losing income - Nintendo dropped Sega like a bucket of dead fish droppings. It was a money pit now, as sega had no games, and no console, thus no extras, to pull in profit, which it never turned anyway.
Sony picked up Sega, kinda like a nerd after being beaten up and left in the cold rain on the street, and offered them a game deal. Sega started turning out games for the Playstation like crazy. Look back shortly after the Dreamcast stopped production and you'll find a whole shitload of nameless games, many of which don't cary a known production label, turned out for the playstation, most of which werent very good. PS2 started turning a profit shortly after the deal was made, and Nintendo baught them back, along with some plans on how to make a 128 bit system without running too hot, or crashing (two problems that nintendo had been having with Dolphin, the system they had been trying to develop at the time) Shortly after, the Game Cube arrived. Almost immediately after, Sony was forced to drop the price of the Playstation, due to the arrival of a new rival - Microsoft, and the cheap, and affordable Game Cube - only 200 dollars, and their award wining lineup of games, half of which were developed by Sega - stolen from Sony.
