I have just finished the fourth book of George RR Martin's epic fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire, and I'm depressed I'm going to have to wait for the next three books to be released. It really is an amazing series. I highly recommend it to everyone. Seriously, go out and buy the first book (A Game of Thrones) now.

I love the first book (and I can actually blame an old YWSer for referring it to me!).

So, Sureal, you think the second is worth it? I have A Clash of Kings, I just haven't had a chance to read it -- uni got in the way.

The story carries right on from where the first book ended, so it's better to think of it as a continuation rather than a sequal. If you enjoyed book one, you'll enjoy book two (and three, and four).
