I wanted to know if anyone has read the book I Am Legend. I just read it because the movie (which looks awesome) is coming out, and I'm glad I did. It is sci-fi, but to me more survival-horror. It's a more mature book, but I really'd like to know if anyone's read it.

If not, read it! It was awesome writing, with excellent characters, and the author really got me attached to them. I was so sad at the end!
"Son, what do you want to be when you grow up?"
"A felon!"
"Are you sure?"
"Yah! This kid at school says they get all the girls!"
"I should try that..."

I'm actually really excited for this to come out. It looks really good.

There is a similar movie coming out in January that looks equally delicious.

I might go and read the book, the concept of armageddon/everyone on Earth dying is a concept I love (see: The Stand, by Stephen King).

I'm interested in seeing the movie, it does indeed look good, the only thing I'm afraid of is...that it stars Will Smith. (see: the butchering of "I, Robot")

Oh well. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

I loved the book! Way different than the movie. Which is great, because I watched the movie first. And it didn't ruin anything about the book! :D And the ending (though sad) was a surprising and moreover realistic one. Assuming the events in the book were ever possible, of course.

The book is great though depressing. The version I read also had some other short stories by the same author (cant remember his name and i loaned the book to my cousin so i cant go look in my library).

Yes the monsters in the book are vampires but it doesn't take away from the story at all. And they are not like all draculaish.
