Disclaimer: I haven't read this since late August, so the details are a little hazy. Bear with me! :)

I really liked this book; it was very bleak, but, honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way. It's about migrant workers during the Great Depression. What did you expect?

For an age rating, I'd suggest it to fifteen-year-olds and up, because of the aforementioned bleakness and the raunchiness/innuendoes.

Discussion questions:
1. Did you sympathize with Curley's wife? Why or why not?
2. How has the treatment of the disabled and/or the poor improved since the 30's? How is it the same or worse than in those times?
3. If you were in George's place, would you have made the same decisions? If not, what would you have done?
