We read this for my Children and Young Adult Lit class. I loved it. I am a fan of Crutcher's sarcastic tone in everything that he writes. But my favorite character is often not the main character--for instance, I love Heidi in this one even though the main character is T.J (or, The Dao Jones).

Has anyone else read this or any of his other books? I know they are becoming banned from the school 'approved' lists more and more.

As a former (and rather excellent) liar herself, Aru knew that, sometimes, speaking the truth felt like wrenching a thorn out of your side. But doing the opposite meant pretending it wasn't there. And that made every single step ache. It was no way to live.
