Letters to the Editor
Squills is on for more than a month now, yet this is the first letter...

New User 001 wrote:Hey AlfredSymon! I [f]ound this post in the news section, and I do have a question about yws. There are lots of advertisements around the website, so I can't see much of the main site. I'm using an iPhone to surf the web, so the screen is pretty small. With all the ads, I can't entirely focus my eyes on the yws! What are those for anyways?

My dear, dear _______. Hey, you're actually the first one who has sent a letter to Squills! I hope more and more come!

Now, on your question. Well, as you can see, the Young Writers Society is an international project set to give service to young writers and to connect different appreciators of the written art from around the world. With all the users, irresistibly good features and wonderful merchandise, the website needs a lot of BACK-UP. Think blue whale size swimming pool. That lot. So how can the creator of the website maintain it? By employing some ad companies to post their ads on the site. With it, more and more monetary support will be supplied to the YWS.

And not all of the are bad; I've even used some of the ads! :D

Thanks for sending a letter to the editor, ________!

Want to get some answers to questions you're unsure to ask? Got a suggestion, comment, violent reaction or protest? Send 'em all to the editor :)

Modern/Contemporary Artist of the Day

As a new feature, I will be working to introduce you all to the famous painters, sculptors, photographers, writers, poets, and misc. brilliants of our era.

Today's artist? Bjork Carlton.

He's a modern day John Tenniel in some ways, as his works will draw one back into childhood, with the outrageously bright colors and confusingly sized objects-- flowers tall as buildings, porpoises small as lap dogs. His work is reminiscent of animated films like Disney's Alice and Wonderland and Peter Pan . His off-kilter, youthful style helps to portray the underlying note of magical realism, this week's theme. Everything in his world of art is unusual, unnatural, but it is painted as if it was always that way. His work can edge on objective abstract.

Examples of His Work

My SPD senses are tingling.

The greatest part of a writer’s time is spent in reading, in order to write; a man will turn over half a library to make one book.
