I woke up this morning knowing the worst was coming. Knowing today is when I leave her. Today is when I move. Today is where I leave my life and start a new one. Today is where I move to New York the Big Apple. My name is Cameron Monroe King Jr. I have one of the best life's anyone could have. Team captain of the football team. The most popular Guy in the school. Dating the most beautiful girl in the world and I have the most loveable friends. But today I am leaving all of that my girlfriend my friends my team my home I don't know any other place but this. Yeah I know I'm lucky to move to New York City one of the most beautiful cities in the world. But to me its just another place. I've been in Sacramento as long as I can even remember. I've had my first kiss in this city. I broke my first bone in this city. I got into my first fist fight in this city. And now this place will only be a memory to me. By the way the reason I am moving is because my mother has been asked to be a teacher in the famous music school Juilliard. And my father living his dream by being an detective in the big and dangerous New York City. Yes, I know it still doesn't sound that bad. I'm over exaggerating. I should be happy about this but I'm not. I'm leaving the girl I have loved for the past 6 months my friends I have grown up with well some of them. I was late to mention my brothers. Three of them my older brother only by a couple months Dominic King he's sort of the mellow laid back type some times he could be a inch of careless but he's my brother. My other brother Derrick he's a bit of the loud and wild one. Very repulsive. Disrespectful and careless. But in a certain situations he knows how to act respectful. My youngest brother is Tony the tallest out of all of us. Has a good interest in boxing and breaking the law but he is exceptionally intelligent. He has been to juvy twice already in two years and has got exspelled. That's another reason why we are moving to keep him out of trouble.By the way if your thinking why we are all around the same age and we'tryna brothers well we were adopted well me and Tony our parents kind of left us and we met Derrick and Dominic at the orphanage and we've been together since then.We all have some sort of connection to somethen that lives here. Me with my girfriend. And also the same thing with my brothers well except Tony he really has ever kept one girl. Just girls in and out of his bedroom window kind of the same with Dominic and Derrick until Derrick found Grace and Dominic found Faith. And yes they happen to be sisters and I'm very close with both of them they are the totally opposites of my brothers but the perfect match. They are in college and plan on transferring to NY university for my brother's. That's love isn't it. But in my brothers and there girlfriends say Monica isnt my soul mate Grace even says that she doesn't deserve me. But I just think she is perfect my brothers think she cheats on me and she treats my like the dog shit on the bottom of your boot. But I don't believe it. She can get a little bossy and snobby. But they don't see her behind closed doors she's sweet,passionate and makes me happy. That's what matters right being happy with the one you love I don't see any other happiness stronger than that. Enough about my love life. I know your wondering why I haven't figured out who Me and Tony's parents are. But I really don't see why we should. They just threw us away. Like we were garbage. And I will not look for horrible people like that when I have the most wonderful parents in the world. Well today I am not thinking to highly of them right now. "Cameron ! Last day of school get up and get ready we do not want you to get behind for your next school" my mom yelled. I got up and sat up on my bed wiping the sleep out of my eyes and the slobber off my mouth. We've been planing to move for 2 months now I am ahead in my school work so I wont be behind in the new school. "Boys wake up last day of school do not be late!" My dad yelled up stairs to us again. As I headed to my bathroom I stared in the mirror. You know those type of stares where you want to know what's missing. As I was getting ready for school I got this massive headache I mean this headache brought me to my knees drilling pain in my skull. "Aghh" I mumbled. "Cam you good" Derrick asked as he put his hand on my shoulder. My headache faded away almost instantly. "Man what was that?" Derrick asked me. "I guess a bad headache aha" I laughed while holding my head. "Lets go !" Dominic yelled. Since he was the eldest and the only one with his license I guess he thought he was in charge like every big brother thought. "Bye mom bye dad!" We all yelled. "Okay be back here excatly at 3:30 we have a long flight so make sure you say your goodbyes" my mom yelled back at us. Then the pain hit me again. Saying goodbye to Monica. We got into the car and headed to school mostly all of our classes was the same besides one or two. The day went by pretty fast. And still no Monica. Was she sick? Did she forget I was leaving today? As the school bell rung I headed to the parking lot to meet the bro's there. Then I seen her tan skin long black hair beautiful brown eyes the sun couldn't glisten off her body the right way. As I called over to her she seemed to kept going her own way. So I called again and this time I knew she had to hear me. So I rushed over to her and grabbed her "Baby where you been?" I asked while trying to kiss her. "I've been at school where else" she said while pushing me off. I sensed something was wrong before I even woke up this morning I don't know how. I just feel thing sometimes. "What's going on are you avoiding me? Did you forget what today is that I'm leaving today" I said unsure of what answer I was going to get back. Monica looked at me and in her eyes I didnt see sadness I seen betrayal I seen lies I seen what my brothers has been telling me the whole time. "Cam I was hoping not to see you today for it can be easier for both of us I know how you feel about me and me seeing you here is making it even harder for me to say what I have to say but this isn't going to work we aren't going to work" Monica said while looking at me. As I felt my eyes starting to water I tried to say something but nothing came out. I cleared my throat "What do you mean we aren't going to work I thought we were going to try in make this work I thought we were going to fight for our love!" I said starting to raise my voice. When everyone starting to stare at us. Monica looked around and stared at me " I don't love you Cam!" Monica yelled for everyone could hear. And by this time my brother's and friends were all outside listening to this conversation."I never did I was just with you because I was most popular girl and you were the star football player I'm in love with someone else that's why its so hard for me I can't be with you knowing inside I am in love with someone else I'm sorry Can I'm sorry" Monica explained but I cut her off "Okay I understand I understand so you were never happy with me?" I asked "No" she answered almost before I finished the question. "How long have you been in love with this other guy?" I asked wiping the tears out my eyes for no'one could see I was tearing up. "Almost a year now" Monica mumbled. "Ah year" I mumbled then I turned around and started to walk away. "Cam I'm sorry I never ment for you to get hurt!" Monica yelled at me. I turned around and looked at her in those beautiful brown eyes "You do not call me Cam only my friends and loved ones call me that bye monica" I mumbled not even wiping the tears from my eyes just letting all the sadness the paid pour out from me. I didnt even look at anyone not my brothers when they called for me not for my teammates no'one. I just walked walked my way to my house. Feeling the worst part of everything. Feeling my heart broken and stepped on shattered into many many pieces. All I could do was think of all the memories I worshipped with her. And now to find out they didnt mean anything more than the shit on the bottom of her boot. All I could feel now was rage anger that I feel for that heartless cow! That I didnt listen and I got what I deserved. I just felt stupid. Emotions just eating my soul alive till I finally made it home. Dominic and them already their just loading the rest of the stuff with the movers. They watched me walk up and just stared knowing not to say anything just to leave me be. I walked up to my room and pulled all the pictures everything that I had to remind me of Monica. And I destroyed it I ripped broker burned whatever I could do to get rid of it get rid of her out my mind but I couldn't. I knew this pain wasn't going to go away anytime soon. So I thought why not get use to it. Endure it since its going to be here awhile. My mom walked in as she probably smelled the smoke from down stairs. "Cam sweetheart what's wrong" she said as she walked over and looked at the ashes and junk burned in this metal can. "Monica left me I loved that girl and all she said to me was how she nevered loved me and how she's sorry am I not loveable mom?" I asked finding a couple tears going down my cheek. "Oh baby you are the most wonderful person I have met sweet intelligent and very loveable don't let that girl make you believe you are not loveable she just wasn't for you I know you loved her but its time to face reality son" my mom said while hugging me. As I realized what was happening I wiped my face off and let go of my mom. Derrick walked in "Mom the truck is ready" Derrick said. "Okay hun this is what's going to happen your dad has bought plan tickets since your the brother is the only licensed driver and me and your father needs to be in New York as soon as possible to get the house situated Dominic is going to drive the truck to new york" my mom explained. "Isn't the drive going to be at least two days?" I asked "Yes but it'll be an helpful experience the boys will bond with their girlfriends and you and Tony will see New York first hand" my mom explained. I wasn't really angry at my moms plan I really actually was fine with it because I really didnt want to be in a hot truck driving for two straight days. I was very emotional right now. So I might have needed a couple hours on a plane my iPod and the open sky in a coach seat. So as we waited for my dad to get home. It was excatly 4:00. We had to have our cars well Dominic's and my parents transported on a car carrier truck. For high expenses. As we got ready to get on the airplane I watched as Derrick and Dominic exited the the airport and I watched them as long suspose I could until they were out of sight. This plane was pretty nice you know very luxurious nice seats the coach section looked like the first class. So I wondered what the first class looked like. I had a window west next to an old women who was probably in her 70's she was looking pretty good for her age no Caine or anything standing up straight and good shape I was kind of surprised I never seen anything like it. But as I sat next to her with Tony behind me and my parents to the far right I really had the alone time I needed this lady was really quiet reading her book making small talk from time to time but when she noticed my earphones were in she just read her book. Tony was sleep and my parents were I guess I don't know doing business. All I could think about now was the words the everytime I play them back in my head it feels like a knife stabs me deeper and deeper in my heart Monica repeatedly saying "I never loved you" over and over and over in my head I tried to drown it out with music but I seemed like the louder and louder i turned the music up the louder her voice got in my head. "Cam I'm sorry" "Cam I'm sorry" over and over again. Then another painful headache but this time I pasted out. I wouldn't say pasted out maybe I just feel asleep it was a long flight. I didnt know we landed until the lady next to me woke me up. I unplugged my earphones for I could hear what she was saying to me. "Young man we are here please hurry everyone is getting off I don't want you to get left by your fsmily" she said with the most polite tone I've ever heard before. "Thanks miss" I said politely back to her with a smile. "Cam over here!" I heard Tony yell as I came down the exculator seen them standing with our luggage. And my dad talking on the phone. We headed to the exit as he finally hung up the phone your brothers will be here late tomorrow night maybe the next day. Its 11:45 pm in New York city. And as I see now I do not regret moving this is the most beautiful place I seen so far. The city of lights everything is so active so bright. Even from the taxi cab the city seemed to talk to me in a way. As we passed hundreds of people in the streets and dozens of other taxi cabs varieties of colors mostly yellow we finally made it to our destination. A very big house kind of bigger than our last but this one looked pretty new right down the street from the Juilliard School and just a block or so from my dads Detective Agency. I woke PJ up as pulled up to the house it was kind of. A corner house white with kind of a black trimming. I enjoyed looking at it. Until I noticed something move in the top window. I couldn't see very well in the dark but I most definitely seen something. "What's was that" Tony mumbled while looking at me. "You seen that to I see well lets wait till mom and dad go in first maybe our eyes is playing tricks on us" I said. We got out the cab unloaded all our luggage and walked to the front door me or Tony walked in unless our dad went first. So which he did he cut on all the lights. This house was amazing I couldn't even explain the texture of the floor the smell inside was just I knew this woulda be a good home. It was sort of a mansion but it surely didnt look that big from the outside. Me and Tony walked up stairs following my dad where he should us our rooms. "Here you go boys you'll love these they all have a secret door leading to each of your rooms through the book case in your room Cam through the closet in yours Tony and I don't know about Derrick or Dominic's I'm sure you guys will find that out" my dad laughed while heading down stairs. "Well I guess we were seeing things but these rooms are awesome !" Tony said while jumping on my bed. "You okay bro I know how you felt about her and.." Tony started to say as I cut him off. "I'm find Tone lets not talk about it well not right now at least lets talk in the morning" I said. Well we all were exhausted so we decided to hit the hay. As I was asleep for a couple hours I kept waking up. I don't know why I just tend to do that in new houses and when I did I seen this dark figure just standing in front of me staring then when I blinked it was gone. I was probably dreaming so I forgot about it. The morning quickly came and me and Tony were already enrolled in school we weren't going to go until Derrick and Dom got here but we really didnt have nothing much else to do but sit at home so what the hell. I told Tony what I thought I saw last night and he told me it was probably a nightmare. As we ate breakfast I felt different in a way. Kind of strong. It was weird I never felt this way
. "Cam you good bro?" Tony asked. "Yeah I don't know what's wrong but I feel great I feel like a million bucks!" I said excitedly. But I was lying I didnt feel like a million bucks I felt better some how I can't explain it. Everything tasted better the colors were so much vivid than its ever been to me. What was strange was Tony wasn't hungry usually my brother eats his and begs for mines but he didnt touch his breakfast or anything else from the refrigerator that was odd. Speaking of the refrigerator it was huge I mean it was just the refrigerator both sides and then the big freezer to the next this house was amazing. What I was really wondering was what was up with tony. "So you guys want to check out your school before your brothers get here or stay home and unpack?" My mom asked but she already knew the answer. "School" we both said quickly. "Okay well we have no car and I think you guys should walk you know get use to your neighborhood because I'm not laying another taxi driver" my mom laughed. So hearing that nonsense from my cheap mother we decided this walk 8 blocks we were already late and we didnt really care at the moment Derrick and Dominic will be here tomorrow so will our cars and our personal stuff . So me and Tony headed to school. I couldn't think of what was off about Tony. But somethen was definitely off. "Tony what's going on with you you don't seem like your self" I asked him but he kept on walking ignoring me. "Tony!" I yelled and grabbed him to stop him from walking." What do you want okay do you want to hear that I feel great that I'm sensing everything that I hear everything that my sense of smell is of the charts that all my senses is going haywire is that what you want to hear!" Tony pushed me off of him while yelling. "I feel that way to except the smell" I laughed but I noticed he wasn't laughing. "Tone everything will be okay maybe its nothing probably this new city is something to get use to" I explained. "Yeah maybe your right or maybe I haven't been done with puberty yet" Tony giggled. We talked for s minute then continued our route to our new school. The scenery was incredible the skyscrapers the noise it was never quiet in new york. We past by this alley way when I seen these group of kids just sitting there. I guess it was normal for a group of kids to be sitting there but not in Sacramento. It was 5 of them 3 boys and 2 girls they were all pale looked like no life in them or its just they don't get enough sunlight. Except for this girl she was African American she had grey bluish eyes I never seen any eyes like them. Its like they knew we were watching before we even walked on this block. They stared at us for a minute and continued to do what they were doing. We looked away for a split second and looked again and they were gone. Maybe they ran or somethen you know. We ignored it and kept heading to the school. I was starting to getting creeped out you know but all this stuff weird New York. Still walking we finally walk up to this school. Now my old school was big but this school was gigantic I mean it covered both sides of the streets I guess it was a Catholic school uniforms and and all and my mom just decided not to mention that. Roman Catholic High School for Others. So as soon as we walked up to the door we spotted another stray group of kids these looked like your normal set of kids but way bigger. This time it was 5 of them 4 boys and one girl the guys were all at least over 6 feet tall I didnt get a good look at the girl. But she didnt look like any other girl I've seen I sensed her vibe it was warm,fierce, dangerous. For some reason they all stared at Tony he didnt notice until they stood up when we walked up the stairs. Tony stopped and pulled his sleeves up ready for anything. "Is there a problem?" Tony asked ready to brawl with these big linebacker's. "Naw man go head" the dude said closest to Tony he had a little smile on his face that kind of creeped me out in a way. We entered the school and I never seen anything like it it was like Hogwarts. "Welcome Mr.Potter" Tony laughed. "So where do we go now" I asked. Then Tony just walked in any direction. I followed of course and we just explored this school was huge hundreds of classes. We needed to find the main office when I spotted that group of kids in the hall the ones we seen in the alley. I should've noticed there uniforms before but obviously they go here. We brushed past them when I decided to ask them where the main office was. "Uh excuse me do you know where we can find the main office?" I said. They kept walking like we didnt even say anything. "Hey! My brother asked you a question" Tony yelled. Then they stopped and turned around. "What you say?" One of the guys said while walking towards us. "I said do you know were the main office is okay we don't want any problems" I said ready of course for anything my sleeves still rolled up. I glimpse at Tony and I seen so much anger in his eyes his face so tense and his fist ball up tight ready to crush anything he throws it at. The Guy walked in tony's face. "You got somethen on your mind? Tough guy" the Guy asked. Before Tony could react. We hear a yell down the hall. "Gabe! Leave him alone" the girl said. It was the girl with all those guys this time I've finally got a good look at her she was brownish tan. She wasn't African American maybe of an Native American descent. She was pretty tall for a girl 5'6 and very fit. Long. Brown hair and her eyes were mesmorizing bright green with a little brown and blue in there. Gabe was his name smiled at Tony and turned to the girl. "Eyla you need to learn how to keep your dog on a leash for I do somethen about it" Gabe said pointing at Tony. "Dog?!" Tony snapped he walked up to the Guy and arched his arm back getting ready for a haymaker. As soon as Tony fired his punch its like Gabe seen it before he even punched he dodged Tony punch like it was nothing an Tony was honestly a good fighter he won some legal fights and belts back in Sacramento but Gabe was dodging his punches every combo until he threw one last heavy haymaker and caught Gabe in his jaw bone he kind of stumbled the power of Tony's punch surprised even Gabe's friends. Because the stepped up towards us. "Wait?" Gabe said while putting his hand up to signal his attack dogs to to pounce on us. "You don't even know what you are.." Gabe started to say before the girl and her group were standing in front of us. "Just leave Gabe" Eyla said Gabe wipe the blood of his lip and stared at her with anger. "We'll see you tonight" Gabe said. As they walked down the hall one of the girls with Gabe turned around and threw a gaze at Tony only me and him caught. He instantly threw a smirking smile on his face. He loved that kind of stuff beating up a Guy and taking his girl. Was there anything better in life he always said. Then Eyla turned around and stared at me for a split second and then she stuck her hand out to shake my hand. "Hi I'm Eyla" I shoke her hand and she walked over to Tony. "I never seen anyone really stand up to Gabe and his group of disciples" Eyla said. "Well that's somethen that's going to have to change what's with that Guy anyway we just asked him where the main office was" Tony said. "Just know Gabe isn't the type of Guy you need to be around if you get my drift" Eyla explained. "Oh my name is Tony by the way" Tony said. "And what about you?" Eyla said while her eyes locked on mines. " I'm Cameron nice to meet you" I said while nodding. "These are my friends Kale,Kenneth,Joey, and Demetrius" Eyla introduced us into her friends we shook hands and told them our names they were quite interested in Tony though but Eyla was quite interested in me. She couldn't quit looking at me. Her friends had to let her know that I was noticing her stares. "So where you guys move from" Kale asked us. "Well we moved from California" I said. "That's why you have a strange scent" Joey said while looking at the others than me. "There's somethen about you that I can't figure out" Eyla said while staring at me. "Well ill be here for a while maybe we could hang out sometime" I said kind of flirting with her. Eyla gave me a smile then Kale gave her a shuff. "We have to go the bell is going to ring but the office is down the hall to the left the first door see you around Cameron" Eyla said while giving me another smile as soon as they walked off the bell rung and the halls instantly filled up with hundreds of kids. We struggled to get through the huge crowd when I notice Gabe and his group standing by there lockers there eyes locked on Tony like and gun getting ready to fire then the girl that gave him the Flirty eye before brushed past him." Be careful" she said while brushing past us. We watched as she made her way to her spot next to Gabe and as it looked like he was very upset that she keeps talking to Tony. This was trouble we didnt need. As we finally made it to the office we had to weight another 30 minutes to finally get in with the Dean Minister. "Hello Boys have a seat" The Dean said. "So you boys have come a long way I only have a small list of rules stay out of trouble and you'll do find here at Roman Catholic High School I've heard you've got into a confrontation with Gabriel and his friends that is the type of people I want you to be around Cameron I've talked to your coach and we could use your talents here" The Dean said. I nodded as he turned to Tony his expression changed almost instantly. "And you I was begged by your parents to get into this school by your criminal records you shouldn't even be here but this is favor for your father who you must know we are good friends so one more incident like earlier today and youll be out of here understood" The Dean nodded. "Now you will wear the school uniform at all times and enjoy your time at Roman Catholic let your brothers know the same you'll pick up your schedules from the front desk you are dismissed" The Dean finally finished as we picked up our classes our lockers and our uniforms we headed to the bathroom to change. After we got out I was feeling a little sick. So I stayed in the stall for some minutes and I started to poke I don't know where it was coming from but it was a lot of it. When I was finished I took another look in the mirror still not sure what was missing as I headed to my locker to put my clothes in Gabe decided to pay me a visit. "Hello Cameron" Gabe said I tensed up by the sound of his deep shrilling voice. Ready for whatever I shut my locker and balled up my fist."Hey hey hold up there I don't want any trouble I just want to invite you to sit down with us at lunch with you being new and all I was wondering if we could be friends" Gabe suggested. As I relaxed I gazed into his dark grey eyes sensing nothing was wrong about that I shook his hand "Yes we could be friends" I answered. And as he shook my hand he kind of jumped when he touched my hand I felt a thrilling chill go through my whole body. His expression changed as he stared at me with confusion. "Well I have to go to class so ill see you around" I said a little confused myself why I felt that way when our hands touched. As I walked away I sensed he was still looking at me watching me. I found my class advanced physics sounds like some sort of meeting with a bunch if scientists. As I walked into the class all eyes were on me I spotted Tony in the back sitting with Kale and Kenneth. Then I spotted Eyla our eyes met and my stomach got all bubbly. "Hi may I help you" the lady said she was pretty young and very bright but also mysterious in a way. "Uh yeah I'm a new student I from California" I explained as I handed her my schedule. "Oh Mr.King well find a seat wherever you like and welcome to Roman Catholic I'm Ms.Evans and today we our learning about cell mutation" Ms.Evans explained. "Cell mutation sounds pretty interesting" I thought. I walked past these group of girls that were smiling and gossiping about me. Then I looked and Tony who seemed to fit right in with Kenneth and Kale. I nodded at him and sat down behind them on another lab set. As we listened to Ms.Evans explain how mutation could cause mutations in different parts of the body it can even spread from one body to another and sort make a 1 out of million things an alteration in the cells. Well evolution. I was learning a lot in this little discussion. Then I noticed Eyla walking over to me her hair in a high bun and her eyes as green as ever. "You mind if I sit here" Eyla asked while trying to use her low voice. As she sat down I smelled some sort of perfume it wasn't a fragrance though maybe it just how she smelt but it smelled wonderful a combination of strawberries,vanilla, all sorts of things all in one. "No not at all " I stuttered at first then cleared my throat and got what had to he said out. "So it seems like my little brother and your guys are hitting it off" I said "Yeah they like Tony they've invited him to a party tomorrow tonight" Eyla explained "Oh what kind of party" I asked trying to not let her notice how much I'm staring. "We throw them almost everyother night to celebrate the freedom we have its always fun I was hoping you could come" Eyla said while giving me another Flirty look. "Yeah sure well my other brothers are coming to town so if they can't come then we all can't come" I explained. "You can bring whoever you want just make sure you get there okay" Eyla said while touching my hand and there I felt something unexplainable another chill I didnt feel before she stared at me for a second "Your special and you don't even know it" Eyla mumbled to me. Then the bell rung It was lunch time and I caught up to Tony "I see your feeling better" I said "Yeah Kale and Kenneth aren't to bad Demetrius eather but that Eyla I think she has a thing for you man she invited you to that party didnt she" Tony said sounding like hisself again. "Yeah she didnt she's different though Tone I can't put my finger on it though" I explained "Well you'll figure it out tomorrow night" Tony said. And as we entered the huge lunch area I spotted Gabe and his friends sitting at the table he seen me and called my name
